HRC fires head; Former RIAA chief likely to take helm
Not many details have come out, but here's the story to keep you ahead of the game. To be fair, Hilary Rosen (who seems likely to take over) is said to have left the RIAA over privacy concerns after the industry started going lawsuit-happy, though the suits began under her watch.

Gay rights lobby fires director, likely replacement is former president of RIAA

Hilary Rosen likely to take helm at HRC

The head of the gay rights lobby Human Rights Campaign, Cheryl Jacques, has been fired.

RAW STORY has learned that Hilary Rosen, former president and CEO of the Record Industry of America, is the top candidate to take her place. Here’s some background from Wired in 2000 (she has since left her RIAA post).

While Rosen began a campaign in which the music industry lobby sued file-sharers to mute copyright violations, some saw her departure from the RIAA to be a quiet rebuke of their aggressive strategy to sue file-sharers.

1. I've met Hilary
and I believe the claim that she quit for the reasons you mentioned. She's not a blind advocate -- she sees both sides. She'll be a great leader of the HRC (and her recent work on cable TV will help boost their visibility).
