The head of the gay rights lobby Human Rights Campaign, Cheryl Jacques, has been fired.
RAW STORY has learned that Hilary Rosen, former president and CEO of the Record Industry of America, is the top candidate to take her place. Here’s some background from Wired in 2000 (she has since left her RIAA post).
While Rosen began a campaign in which the music industry lobby sued file-sharers to mute copyright violations, some saw her departure from the RIAA to be a quiet rebuke of their aggressive strategy to sue file-sharers.
