Marines Say The Pentagon Sucks
I have spent a lot of time recently at the Balboa Naval Hospital. While waiting for my appointments I've had the chance to talk to many of our wounded Marines just back from Iraq. These are great troops and despite their wounds their morale is high. I don't think I talked to anyone who didn't want to stay in the Corps and eventually get back in the fight. Despite their praise for their fellow Marines and their combat leaders they didn't have many good things to say about the Pentagon.

They don't feel that they are being given the tools to do the job. They complained of ammunition shortages and having to buy gear they felt they needed off the shelf themselves. They also told me that even an armored Hummer (and it's still taking too long to retrofit them) is not up to the job in Iraq.

We owe these men more than this. Thanks for keeping up the pressure on the idiots in charge.

1. This is nothing new
My Dad was an Army Captain on Guatal Canal for nearly three years during WWII (after the Marines got a hold). He had a trucking company (made up of a black segregated unit). His biggest contempt was for anyone high up in the military. They never got the supplies they needed. I'm convinced that the regular officer milliary is a sort of club and they get infantry and guardsmen to do the hard work and never support them.

2. Hell I have two cousins
Who resigned their comissions over Iraq and they were both lifers who joined In the 70's as soon as they got out of high school. They both thought that this thing was goingto be a disaster. They were among the 20 odd percent of military families who didnt support this administration. My dad was retired Navy and said the same thin.

3. I do not support this war
and while I do feel so very sorry for the wounded and the families of the dead, I cannot, simply cannot, think we owe this mission anything.

The notion that they are underequipped needs to be taken first to their AWOL commander in stupidity chief and this blind obdience needs to be usurped.

Sorry--100,000 innocent people have been slaughtered and I will NOT approve of giving those who have killed them, more stuff to kill them with. ONe third of them were children and little babies.

They need to get together to revolt against this megalomaniac if they had any sense at all of what it means to be a human being.

Stubborn insistence by the military in following a madman, who himself was AWOL from his own duty in time of war and is now thinking he is some reincarnation of Machiavelli, is sick.

They should just refuse. They are dong no9thing there but putting themself in harm's way according to the policies of their ignorant and stupid CIC.

6. I can understand your position of not wanting to contribute more weapons,
but I still think you should be willing to help contribute body armor and plating for humvees. Our soldiers are not deliberately targeting civilians. Don't punish them because sixty-million americans have fewer braincells than the flags they're always waving. I certainly want them to come back in one piece.

7. Agreed,
We're talking defense here.

I support the troops. It's Bush I can't stand. (I need that bumpersticker.)

Mostly I send latte. Yes gang, the troops like latte. Elitist bastards. I bet they ARE voting for Kerry, that green tea drinkin' commie.

(actually, I'm just the shipper. my workplace gets the stuff together.)

but I am sorry, someone is killing 100,000 civilians and they are, indeed, being targeted by someone with the means to kill them.

It is NOT up to ME to provide the proper armament to protect those troops.

It is up to Bush, the crazy CIC who is lacking in brains and is lacking in anything necessary to see to it that the mission is protected--the military does NOT expect to be purposely , either through deliberate means or incompetant means, to be put in harm's way, and the military needs to REVOLT against their egotistic CIC who is NOT and did NOT look out for their safety to begin with.

He will soon have an inauguration celebration that , according to reports, will cost 60 million dollars. All for the numerous celebration balls, and the fancy dress, Laura's atrocious glittering ball gown, and for the "have more" rich who contributed to his campaign, to prance about shaking this little pricks chimpanzee hand while feasting on the delicacies provided.

I am NOT the one to have to supply the military, which is and has been always been supplied by the American tax payer. It is the lack of concern by Bush, and not the lack of concern by the citizen, that is the cause of so much suffering and death in our troops.

I say the military should revolt against this stupid, cowadly insane man. They are being used and slaughtered in alarming numbers, while he goes about promoting a stupid incompetant woman to the SOS position and goes flying off to Canada and asserts that he was met by friendly crowds , as is his usual lying way.

Stop it. The military needs to revolt against this insane man. Citizens CANNOT be expected to supply the troops with the equiptment necessary to save the lives of American troops.

Geez--I have never heard of anything like it.

13. Citizens aren't expected to supply armor. But if the gov't fails to
protect our military, full, I remind you, of our FELLOW AMERICANS, then I do believe that we as citizens should do our part to protect the men and women who are trying to protect us.

14. With all due respect
Ma'am, you do not want the military to overthrow our government. It's unlikely that this would result in a liberal democratic form of government, which despite a little recent movement in the other direction, we still live in. Read the book (not movie) Starship Troopers for a best-case scenerio.

5. The Pentagon DOES suck....................
but it's an extension of Bushamurika right now and how could one expect anything else? The young men and women are giving their all for our country and they're being shafted right up the wazoo. Not enough boots on the ground, not enough equipment for the ones we do have there. I feel for these young folks, but I put the blame squarely on the Bush baby in the White House. They choreographed this entire mess over there, overruling those inside the Pentagon that actually KNEW what they were talking about. Trying to fight an illegal and failed crusade on the cheap, lying to the public........and we've got 4 more years of this asshole?

12. a big salue to you MSgt!
the Marines in particular have seen the really horrible scenes most Muricans ignore or refuse to think about. I just hate seeing the young Marines taking the brunt of all this madness...
