I HAVE to share this with everyone!!!!!
I was in the grocery store today looking in the meat section when I heard this guy yelling about the price of milk. He was quite a distance from me,but I heard him yelling about how we'd better get this bunch of criminals out of there and get the democrats back in charge. He was very angry....milk at $2.97 a gallon and he was bitching about the gas prices being so high. Everyone was looking at him and I walked over to where he was and told him I agreed with him 100%. Another guy was standing there agreeing also, but he said they were ALL a bunch of crooks. I'm telling you,I have never seen this before.I think more people are angry out here than we could possibly imagine. They just mostly keep it to themselves.I felt great when I left that store.....maybe there is hope after all. :grouphug: :bounce: :toast:    :bounce:

1. I've noticed the same thing,
then, when you agree with them, they say they've been afraid to speak up and say anything because they thought they were the only ones that felt that way! And this is a conservative area! Drip, drip, drip!

3. Can You Give the Geography?
State, city, type of neighborhood, etc? I agree that is excellent news. Not just that a few people feel this way, but that they are the vocal ones and the Bush supporters are mostly shutting their mouths recently. That signals a big difference in turnout next election.

I live in a rural area and I was at good ole Wal-mart......not much choice here to shop....there are a mixture of people here....poor---middle class--- and some quite wealthy.Like it is everywhere..but I've never heard anyone cut loose like that in a store.....it was great!

16. Rural Area? Good News!
That's the place the election has to be contested. And I'm convinced a lot of it has to do with who feels confident enough to speak up and who just wants to ignore everything.

4. If America ever wakes the hell up,
there will be a lot of hell to pay. We can take this country back from the felons, crooks, liers, neo-cons and mentally challanged Fundies. The good guys out number them. We should encourage all "good guys' to vent and rant.

:kick:

Come to think of it that is a good strategy. Every time you go shopping bitch out loud and see how many join you. Hey, I am gonna try that one out tonight.

5. A friend of mine who a year ago told me to shut up
about Bush, called me up ranting the other night. She's in AZ. Turns out W wants to exploit the fires there to push his logging agenda. So that was the issue that got to her. According to her so many people hate him that he'll never be reelected. So I very gently introduced her to the concept of black box voting. W's policies hurt everybody eventually, so more and more people are waking up. But I think it will be lying about the air in NY that is the stake through his heart. A simple concept everybody can understand.

11. Uh - you're assuming he even HAS a heart to put a stake through.
Otherwise, this is terrific news! Seems they're starting to wake up all over the country. I can't find a single person now, to talk to, who's not just against Bush, but really despises him and his whole den of thieves. It's a pretty strong set of sentiments out there, and non of it's good.

In fact, at the Dean meetup last night, everyone at our table failed to come up with anything he's actually done that's good, or that he HASN'T lied about.

8. What I don't understand is that so many on DU
were saying the same thing in 2002, and look what happened. We got creamed.

The polls say 52% here in Wisconsin still think stinkero is doing a good job.

I must say though that the lady who does my hair has changed her mind about Bush. She says she can't stand to listen to him.

12. And dairy farmers aren't getting the money for the milk
so who is?

I heard a story on news this a.m. I think it was ABC. Farmers aren't getting anything for their milk, yet it is $2.97 at the dairy case.
Probably another de-regulation scheme that screws the producers and the consumers but benefits a Bush campaign donor.

Dairy farmers are culling their herds right now. Selling it for hamburger because the prices they get are so LOW. They are talking about forming a producers union to cut supplies and get a better price for themselves. Sure sounds like the late 1920's all over again.

So what is really going on here?

17. At Almost Every SuperMarket Here In Sacto, CA...
They've got this weird marketing scheme when it comes to milk.

If you want to buy one gallon of milk, it'll cost you about $3.25 or so. But, if you have your shopper discount thingy, and buy TWO gallons of milk, you pay around $3.90!!!

What the hell is that??? :wtf:

Either somebody is gettin gouged, or somebody is gettin screwed.

Oh... That's the same thing, right?

18. It's bizarre.
Here in town( pop.abt. 10,000), a quart of half and half goes for about 2.39. I can drive 12 miles to SLO and get 2 for 2 bucks at Smart & Final.

13. $2.97??? Try $4.20 where I live
Fuel costs have driven prices sky high way up here in Alaska. We have all our freight barged in and they just put a six percent surcharge on all freight costs. Everything is climbing, climbing, climbing. Republicanism on display.
