I just have to highlight this freeper post
The freeper is saying that the lack of armor on our military vehicles is all the unions fault. If the union hadn't demanded a fair wage with benefits, we could have supplied the armor. He continued that our demanding wages over a $1.00 an hour made us uncompetetive with other countries and that most countries would envy that wage.

Excuse me? Maybe the freeper would like to try to survive in this country on a $1.00 an hour.

2. Did he have any rational explanation why a FY2004 Pentagon
budget of $530BB wouldn't cover things like troop protection, food, family support, etc?

Why does this guy hate America so much? He hates autoworkers, he hates the troops.....but he loves this war profiteering Republican Party?

Ask him how many Republican millionaires have been created off of this war?

You know the RNC is getting deperate when their shepards are trotting out these kind of lame excuses......methinks they're running out of excuses.

3. same freepers who were all wailey wailey about the 87 bln $$$
...appropriations bill that Kerry voted against...

where did that $$ go anyway?

at $5000 a vehicle to up-armor a humvee ( a dollar figure pulled right outa my ass )

we could have up-armored 17.4 million humvees

...do we have that many?

4. Check the bank accounts of Republican campaign contributors,
Consultants, etc. I suspect that we've been taken to the cleaner.....and our troops have been screwed, too.

5. It is really Clinton's fault. Any one heard that yet?
To bad we can not figure out how to save some of the citizens that live in that country.I swear it used to be the army people that got killed and now it seems to be just the people and not the fighters. If we killed 50 of our men in the last fight and 1000 of their, how many people died in that time? I think it may be safer being in the army than just living in that country. I am not sure which is worse. These car bombers or our military in killing people.

6. lack of armor/equipment due to POOR PLANNING
invading Iraq was not a reaction to an attack nor was it a reaction to an immediate threat

bush* CHOOSE to invade, and he choose to invade with an under-equipment force

it seems to me that if you CHOOSE to invade another country that you first make sure your troops are properly equipped. bush* had ample time and opportunity to ensure this BEFORE invading.

as bush* said many times during the "ramp-up" to the invasion -- we would invade according to OUR timetable and at a time of OUR choosing.

More armored vehicles could readily be built, two companies say

WASHINGTON -- The manufacturer of Humvees for the U.S. military and the company that adds armor to the utility vehicles are not running near production capacity and are making all that the Pentagon has requested, spokesmen for both companies said.

"If they call and say, 'You know, we really want more,' we'll get it done," said Lee Woodward, a spokesman for AM General, the Indiana company that makes Humvees and the civilian Hummer versions.

7. humvees aren't armor - never meant to be
they are soft-skinned transport, a replacement for the jeep, that has been misused as a combat gun platform.
