friend "surprised" and "upset" by the "mis-handling" of Iraq war
a friend of mine may be typical of how most voters views the current mis-administration -- he views it with his head stuck in the ground and relys on news-bites gleaned from channel surfing or scanning headlines

Yesterday, he told he was "surprised" and "upset" about the lack of proper equipment in Iraq, and how troops are scrounging through dumps for scrap-metal etc to "jury-rig" vehicles

I asked him if he was aware of home-town fundraisers that have and are occuring in order to purchase metal plates and flack armor by friends/family of service-people because this stuff is not provided?

"How can the government send out troops into battle without the proper equipment?" he wailed "And what's this bush*it duck and dodge crap about being a matter of physics? They expect us to just swallow this load of crapola?"

well, this story may have been a rude awakening for more than one American.

To me and probably to the majority of DUers, it's no surprise. We've been fed on a steady diet of crapola since 9-11.

Yes, it's war and war is hell -- but that is NO excuse for the mess in Iraq. Sometimes you do have to work with the army you have and not the army you want -- however invading Iraq is not a situation where you react immediately to an attack -- it was a CHOICE to invade

bush* CHOOSE to invade. Iraq had no connections to 9-11, no plans to attack us, and no WMDS. bush* CHOOSE to invade with the "army we have".

This means there was ample opportunity to assess and properly equip our troops BEFORE invading.

like too many others, it seems he's 'upset' that this invasion was done 'wrong'.

they should be outraged it was done at all.

5. Tell your friend amputees are being sent back to Iraq
It's in the Moonie Times article "Is the Bush Administration certifiable?"
http://www.washingtontimes.com/commentary/proberts.htm

If that, coming from the right wing and hawkish Washington Times, doesn't wake him up like a bucket of ice water I don't know what will.
