Flash!!! * tells the truth!!!
"Bush Says He Won't Raise Taxes for Social Security Overhaul"

<http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/10/politics/10social.html>

Of course he won't. The Chimp in Chief would have to admit that his whole starve the government charade is and was a colossal mistake.

He will never raise taxes. He has to prove that his dad was a wimp, and that he is not.

It will be up to the DEMOCRATIC President in 2008 to figure out how to recover from the wreckage, unless we have a slight head start after we have taken back the Senate and House (and the rest of the USA)
in 2006.

Did Gangrene (Gingrich) copyright the phrase Contract with America? Why don't we co-op it? It worked well the last mid term political revolution.

4. I want to set up a new one, where we use their term -
Contract with America- to describe our platforms and ideas. As * has shown us time and time again, a lot of people don't listen to the concepts, they just like the sound of the program's name. Healthy Forests sounds good, but when you really look at the concept, * means to mow it down. Clear Skies means giving his friends, the pollution industry, more latitude in making the skies dirty.

Black = white, Up is Down, and so forth. But not enough of us seem to care if they are in their alternate reality.

We need better names for things. Instead of calling them on unfunded mandates, for example, we could describe our programs as "Paying Our Own Way". And so forth.

2. You are right==Bush is going to let someone else fund it,
so the entire exercise consists of exchanging one set of unfunded liabilities (SS benefits) for another, larger set of unfunded liabilities (government debt to pay "transition" costs) with a huge slice getting paid to wall street to service the new "investments". He'll leave it up to the Democrats to choose how to screw over retirees or future taxpayers to pay for it.

What a dick.

3. Actually, he said he won't increase PAYROLL taxes...

...which, of course, were raised back in the 80s specifically to avoid a "crisis" with Social Security. (Chim-Chim then said he would not prejudge the options -- ha!)

This opens the door for him to raise taxes (for the middle-class and lower incomes, not his own) in some other way without a "read my lips" moment.

Standard reminder: there is no crisis with Social Security. The people who are out to "save" SS by partially or wholly piratizing "privatizing" it actually want to eliminate it (for reasons of greed or ideology).
