Well if you didn't already know, these clearly explain Chimp's desire to put people on Mars/Moon and why NASA got 5% of the recent spending bill. Pentagon scenarios for war in space go far beyond shooting down missiles that threaten the U.S. homeland. They call for airborne and orbiting weapons that could attack targets anywhere on Earth at virtually any moment. They call for weapons that could defend U.S. space armaments or satellites while blinding or destroying those of any potential adversary. They call, in short, for the United States to dominate warfare's ultimate high ground, potentially locking in U.S. military superiority for decades to come. Three key supporters of exploiting the U.S. lead in space warfare are Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Vice President Dick Cheney and Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
MSM should give themselves a pat on the back for their coverage of this issue.
This document literally redefines just about every aspect of war and introduces a whole new vocabulary, which will likely account for a significant portion of future White House Press Conferences. Below is the new purpose of war:
An Evolving Joint Perspective: US Joint Warfare and Crisis Resolution in the 21st Century

Old: Violent clash of opposing wills
New:
• Impose will upon an adversary
• Politics by another means
• A better peace
This document lays out, in detail, what we plan on doing with/in/from space:
A few, of many, details from Chairman Donald Rumsfeld’s Report of the Commission to Assess United States National Security Space Management and Organization:
*Develop and deploy the means to deter and defend against hostile acts directed at U.S. space assets and against the uses of space hostile to U.S. interests.
*U.S. national security space interests be recognized as a top national security priority.
*The U.S. is more dependent on space than any other nation.
*In July 2000, the Xinhua news agency reported that China’s military is developing methods and strategies for defeating the U.S. military in a high-tech and space-based future war.
*The U.S. is an attractive candidate for a “Space Pearl Harbor.”
*The U.S. must participate actively in shaping the space legal and regulatory environment.
