New HHS nomination could mean MAJOR cuts in Medicare/Medicaid
I am so happy the wealthy have gotten their tax cuts. We are going to see many ealderly and sick without healthcare in the next few years so Bushit can balance the budget.

quote------
Michael Leavitt, President Bush (news - web sites)'s choice to be secretary of Health and Human Services (news - web sites), may have to cut billions of dollars from the government's mammoth health programs for the elderly, poor and disabled to pare the budget deficit.
If Congress undertakes serious budget cutting next year, Medicare and Medicaid would be unlikely to escape, senior Republican congressional aides said last week.

Ron Pollack, executive director of the consumer group Families USA and an administration critic, said the costs of Bush's second-term agenda coupled with his opposition to tax increases "points to Medicaid potentially taking a very large hit."

1. Where do I sign to be exempted from the cuts?
I didn't vote for this crowd. I believe I should be exempted from the cuts.

3. make no mistake . . . the goal is to kill Medicare and SS . . .
along with any other vestiges of the New Deal and the Great Society . . . all this talk about reform is merely code for doing whatever it takes to insure that both programs (along with things like environmental protection, workers rights, occupational health and safety, etc.) are all ultimately defunded and destroyed . . . when BushCo is done, corporations will have ALL the power, the people absolutely none . . .
