Today's Freedom Medal ceremonies: rewarding our failures.
It's astonishing what power can do. We can reward our own failures and make heros out of cowards and criminals.

Wizard to scarecrow: "I can't give you a brain, but I can give you a diploma."

2. Promote Condi. Retain Rumsfeld. As usual, they are consistent in
rewarding incompetence.

Our nation's highest civilian honour, awarded to 3 colossal FUCK-UPS.

Why didn't he just give one to Colon Bowell, or Colon's boy Mikey, while he was at it?

Mikey Bowell for protecting Murka from the Evil JanetTitty...

Colon for his convincing tap-dance before the UN....

If I had one of those medals, I'd wipe my ass on it and send it back.

Next thing you know, Chimpy will start handing them out like Tic-Tacs to all his Ranger and Pioneer buds...

Fox analysis: History will prove how great these three have been and everyone makes an occasional mistake.

7. In "Catch 22", Yossarian was promoted and given a medal

for having the squadron drop its bombs in the ocean instead

of bombing a village, and Col. Cathcart couldn't

punish him because it would be bad publicity, so he promoted

Yossarian to Captain.
