I got this email just now. I'm not in a healthcare field at all. Plus, don't they like people in their 60s and 70s? :)

I'll let you know. But I suspect I have very little on my resume that would interest them. Could show how pathetically desperate they are though if they actually court someone with my credentials. ;)

When one has to go into battle in a land in the Middle East for twelve or eighteen months, I would call that a sacrifice of personal life.

"Oh we forgot that going to Iraq might be a sacrifice"

By which I mean it's not one of those horrible TV ads which make being in the military look like a cross between a computer game and going to university.

And it seems perfectly legitimate, even if it is indicative of a shortage of volunteers in a time of overstretch.

I would take them up on it.

True enough....your TRAINING sessions will be close to home, but if they ACTIVATE YOUR ASS, you could be sweating in the sandbox for a year at a time, coming back to backfill a billet for some other bastard going over there, and then going back again. And they can do this to you for EIGHT YEARS, or more! And you have NO RECOURSE, nothing to say about it except Thank You Sir, May I Please Have Some More!

For those who think NAVY=Safe, think again. The USMC is part of the USN, and they need docs, nurses, corpsmen, too, and they are taking some of the worst hits. Also, in joint commands, the USN usually gets a load of the logistics/supply responsibility, and a huge chunk of the medical load, as well as a goodly share of the civil engineering tasking.

Everyone gets to play when the boyking goes to war....

about 80% of the results are military jobs...no matter what profession I search. And it is usually the same job listed over and over and over with a different location as the only change. It's annoying and makes finding an actual job post very tedious...maybe they hope you just give up and reply to the military job.

It gets really annoying. If I wanted to enlist, I would, but I don't so I would to to see the civilian jobs thank you very much
