Does FOX News discriminate against liberals, and could they be sued for it
I was just wondering. It seems as though FNC does not hire liberal minded people. I can't think of one left of center person on that station (no, Colmes does not count!). This is a blatant violation of EEO laws. Is a class action lawsuit in order?

1. What does it violate?
I can't imagine that the EEOC would have any power to tell a news outlet what opinion their opinionmakers must hold.

2. Being a "liberal" is not a protected class entitling you to equal rights.

7. Slide down that slope if you'd like
but don't expect others to want to follow.

3. I think you might want to do a little research
before posting stuff like this.

5. There is that thing called a
Remote control for the T.V.

Just what blatant violation of EEO laws is FNC breaking?

Juan Williams comes to mind. He is a regular on Faux

6. It's gonna get a whole lot more interesting ...
now that via CNN, I just heard that FOX has hired ole' Give 'em hell ZELL Miller as a commentator ... they promised they would try to fit him in anywhere and everywhere they can.

Whoa! FOX is shameless. But hey, they do have Colmes. <sigh>

8. Some of those so-called conservative pundits
could really be liberals underneath, but the sizable paycheck has turned their rhetoric into conservative blather. Most of them don't write their own copy anyway. They just sit there and look pretty and say whatever they have been told to say. After all, they "have a mortgage to pay and kids to send through school." (The usual arguments for doing whatever they do, even if it is bad for the rest of us.

9. Does Air America discriminate against conservatives?
What's the legal difference between the two cases?

10. I really doubt it.

I think it doesn't because a person's political POV is important when being a commentator and/or host. Seem similar to hiring a stripper based on her physical appearacne. Now, if someone was not hire (or fired) from an off-air position based soley on their political leanings, then they may have a case. Maybe that was the intent of your post.

BTW, How are FOX News and strippers alike?

A. They are both CASH WHORES! (I know, its not very funny and probably offensive to our fellow DU strippers. Sorry :))

11. Does "The Nation" or Air America discriminate against Republicans?
damn right...and it is perfectly legal. Air America can't be forced to hire conservative commentators, and Fox can't be forced to hire liberals. Free speech baby. If you want liberal TV, start your own company...thats the only way.

Where are you Al Gore?
