Could We Have an Economic Downturn due to Religion?

Wouldn't that be ironic.

Xmas sales down to all time low because of religious fervor. People are giving what they have to the poor! Not buying Commercial Gifts this year. Having an old fashioned Religious Xmas!

I though of that because store sales are not what they were expected to be.
