Christians have prayed for peace for 2000 years. Why do they do
nothing the bring peace? I have often wondered this over the years.

1. don't blame all Christians
for the action of a few. Why should all pay for the war crimes of the Bush Crime Family for instance, who's been involved with war profiteering since Hitler?

3. Talk's cheap
If you want action, talk to the Quakers about what to do.

6. Careful, there
Some Christians actually got the point. Quakers are but one example.

Instead of dismissing them so cavalierly, find out what they've been doing.

I dare you.

7. No, I prefer blanket condemnation of all Christians
and I like to assume anything bad is caused by Christians. Why let facts get in the way of my self-righteous outrage? :eyes:

Why is it that what should be obvious sarcasm about the anti-Christian bigotry that's so utterly clear here keep being mistaken for sincerety? I know it's sure as hell not my sparkling satirical wit - how many of these little :eyes: must I post?

8. Your Ad hominem Attack
Edited on Sat Dec-25-04 01:10 PM by StClone
On anyone that question or denigrations Christianity is just the type of reasoning that has put Bush in office: don't question authority status quo. I am Catholic and want to know why ANY Christian would support non-Catholic Bush. Something is wrong with faith when it can be the couch for all sorts of activities and the Christian leaders support it!

10. sure, let's see my ad hominem attack?
Which individual did I attack? Go ahead, show me where on this thread I attacked any individual?

I made a few sarcastic comments about the overt, anti-Christian bigotry displayed by some people on this board - as far as I can tell, these people are agent provacatuers, since they are doing the GOP's work for them - trying to paint Democrats as anti-Christians and anti-religious bigots.

The majority of Democrats are Christians - something you would not know if you believed two groups of people - the Republicans, and the anti-Christian bigots here. Both are doing their very best to destroy the Democratic party.

5. The problem is that Christianity has been coopted by those who oppose
Jesus's teachings.

Christians who follow Jesus, often do not have the backing of the state, big corps and/or the ultra-wealthy. The Christians in name only get their backing instead, and therefore become very powerful and very wealthy.

Father Philip Berrigan, Arch-Bishop Romero, Father Roy B., the nuns of "Swords to Ploughshares" etc..

these folks and many, many others put their lives on the line, spent time in prison etc. for peace and justice.
