ROFL - Dad ebays bad kids' presents!

' "No kidding. Three undeserving boys have crossed the line. Tonight we sat down and showed them what they WILL NOT get for Christmas this year. I'll be taking the tree down tomorrow," the man announced in his eBay posting. '

1. I found it on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62054&item=8157047854&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Someone is trying to mess with the guy, I think.

The bidding is up to $12,600

"Relisted for the THIRD TIME. WE WILL NOT GIVE UP.
No kidding. Three undeserving boys have crossed the line. Tonight we sat down and showed them what they WILL NOT get for Christmas this year. I'll be taking down the tree tomorrow. (December the 23rd)
Three DS Systems WITH PictoChat AND Metroid.
Three games - Spiderman, Super Mario something, and Asphalt driving game."

And THIS guy posted the entire story to HIS auction, trying to get key-word hits.

6. Anyone else want to alert the ebay mods on this selfishness?
Punishing kids is one thing. But profiteering from it? Disgusting, despicable, vile, vulgar.

2. Not a fit parent, just a publicity whore
He tried to sell his story to multiple newspapers.

3. Not so fast!
You don't know what the kids did, or if it involved the cops and/or the fire department, or if it made the local news. They'd have to be pretty awful for a parent to rub their noses in it publicly this way.

I'm not saying the guy's right. I'm just saying we don't have all the facts.

4. "They'd have to be pretty awful for a parent to rub their noses in it..."
well, not necessarily: the whole family seems rather warped, from what I gather in all the other threads about this.

7. The 'normally well behaved kids' (ages 9, 11, 15) basically
yelled vulgar words and beat each other up.

It's on many media news sites.

Daddy dearest there is profiteering from punishing his children. Punishment is one thing, but if he's saying that "normally well behaved kids" is the reason why he's doing what he did? Uh-uh. He could have said "No Christmas" and NOT show them what they didn't get.

Punishment is one thing. But profiteering from it... he's a scumbag.

9. If I'd ever "double dared" my dad
Edited on Sat Dec-25-04 03:46 PM by depakid
There wouldn't have been any question as to the outcome.

Cynicism aside, I'd have to say that if it's gotten this far, then there are other things going on that need to be addressed. One big statement is no substitute for all the little consistent things that need to be done all year long.

That's where good parenting comes in- that's the challenge, IMHO.

10. Real parenting?
Sounds like a lesson on how to be nasty and spiteful.

When dad is old and cussing in the nursing home, I hope they sell his walker on ebay. "Sorry dad, you crossed the line!"

12. I know!
Somehow, I think Dr. Phil is involved.

It has his fingerprints all over it.
