Christmas is the nexus of Christian fundamentalism and capitalism

This is what my girlfriend and I talked about as we looked around at the gift boxes and crumpled up wrapping paper this morning. She made the comment and I really believe that it is true. Christmas has been co-opted by corporate America and the radical right.

But my g/f got a huge box of stuff from her sister, so she got to open gifts this morning. We made an agreement not to exchange gifts this year.
