Merry XMESS, another asinity of empire.

Sometimes I think an asteroid taking this planet out would be a good thing, or at least hit the Red State area. Now you can't even say Happy fucking Holidays without some shitforbrains knuckledragging neo-con throwing a hissy fit and demanding you say Merry Christmas. Somebody at DU had a major confrontation with a customer where he/she worked over this. The neo-con nazi demanded that the DUer cashier say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays or they would report him to the manager.

This sounds a bit far-fetched but still this is the kind of crap our dumb-ass country wallows in while the conflict rages in Iraq and another presidential election goes into the :wtf: happened file. Can you define esoteric, irrelevant, asinine?

I've been walking around saying Happy Holidays alot lately and just waiting for some neo-con primate to open his/her mouth. If they say anything to me I'm going to reply that I'm an atheist and to say "Christ" as if I meant it would be....well, blasphemy...from an atheists point of view.

I always liked Xmas because it cut Christ out of the picture. I'm an atheist with residual warm cozy childhood feelings about this time of the year. Now I come to find out that "X" means Ch or Christ in Greek for Christs sake. :wtf:

Let's discuss this people. This is important! :eyes:

PS. Maybe, just maybe this is all a freeper ploy to divert our energies away from more relevant topics. If it is I toast to the freepers; they got us on that one. :tinfoilhat:

1. I've noticed people now say
Nothing special at all just something simple like "have a good day."

4. I say Happy Holidays out of deference to people who don't celebrate x-mas.

5. Me too!
I say, 'Happy Holidays!' I just hope someone will challenge me about it. I'd love it.

6. Thanks!
Showing respect for others is a kind and classy thing to do. I'm sure freepers like to say merry christmas because it gives them a chance to offend or demean somebody for not worshipping their corporate religious holiday.
