Not to be petty, but what is with the baby-blue bow around Laura's waist? It's completely dissonant with the rest of her outfit and certainly doesn't flatter her figure. Who's her fashion consultant, anyway?

I don't think "symbolic" is something Laura or any Bush can manage independently. Besides, if the blue ribbon did have some kind of symbolism, we'd have heard about it by now.

Of course, if word filters back to the WH about this, some staff person will cook up a "personal symbolism" story to publish, thus making it look like there was a reason other than awful taste.

looks like she thought her youthful waistline was not being emphasized enough, so went to the local wal mart and bought some gros grained ribbon, and tied it around her not so youthful waistline--with a poor attempt at knotting a square knot. GeeZ--what a dumpy looking dress.

Is it just me or does that sound like these guys are up on charges?

Okay, let's pick apart Laura's appearance here; that's always fun. The blue ribbon around her waist goes with her blue earrings. The suit looks like the exact same cut every other suit she owns is in. But what's up with the blush? I like blush, but it's not supposed to go from your temples to your jawline! This woman is in DIRE need of a trip to any department store.
