HAHA - Rummy: This wasn't my idea!
Check out Rumsfeld, the dirty bureaucratic infighter who once showed Kissinger whut's whut, reduced to whining through Bob Novak:

Rumsfeld is often bracketed with the neocons, but that is incorrect. In a long political career that dates back to his election to Congress in 1962, he has not even been associated with the traditional conservative movement. In the run-up to the attack on Iraq, he was not aggressively pressing intervention by force of arms, but instead was shaping a military response to fit President Bush's command.

Got that? Not a neocon. Not even a movement conservative. Wasn't interested in war. Just doing his job. Now everybody's picking on him.

Jeez Rummy, keep backpedalling like that and you'll wind up in the middle of the Pacific. What happened to you?

PA-THETIC!

war terribly and many, many people lost their lives as a result (and continue to do so). The man has proven his incompetence and why he hasn't been fired yet is beyond me.

2. I hate to say it, RumsFool, but -
if you go to the PNAC web site, there are some documents that are signed by RumsFool. As far as I know, RumsFathead is a member of the Project for the New American Century which has aggressive plans for the United States to become the World's #1 Thug, or in their own words, "A benevolent Dictator" (as if a dictator could EVER be benevolent).

There were signatures of Jeb Bush, William Kristol, Donald FumsReld, the newspaper reporter (I forget his name) and a few others.

As usual, RumsFool is the first to wash his hands of anything that starts to stink. I've seen him squirm and wiggle out of situations gone bad, and then I've seen him gloat and preen his lovely feathers when something has gone OK.

Just keep it up buddy. Enjoy yourself while you still can. The fact is, you're getting old. Most people when they get up in age, want to review their lives because they fear their approaching demise....:smoke:

3. just checked PNAC
and I don't see Rumsfeld's signature on the 1997 document. The original neo-cons were liberals. Has Rumsfeld ever been a liberal?

5. Novak's Christmas kool-aid
Bob, Bob, Bob...obfuscation is not your strong suit.

In a long political career that dates back to his election to Congress in 1962, {Rummy} has not even been associated with the traditional conservative movement.

Of course not! Neoconservatism and traditional conservatism aren't the same thing by a long shot, despite the similar sounding names.

In the run-up to the attack on Iraq, he was not aggressively pressing intervention by force of arms...

Oh really? Then how is it Rummy signed PNACs letter to Clinton urging pre-emptive military action against Iraq back in 1998? And what about all the crap the SecDef was laying on us about how Iraq posed an "imminent threat"?

Thus, the neocon message is that the war was no mistake but has been badly conducted.

This is true. They wanted this war come hell or high water. They just thought the WalMarts and McDonalds would be flourishing in Baghdad by now.

Getting rid of Rumsfeld does not answer agonizing questions.

No, but it is the beginning of a proper response to the war-mongering global hegemonists inhabiting the White House.
