My letter to my Senator on SS reform
Senator Lincoln;

I am unalterably opposed to any plan that President Bush might put forward for reforming Social Security. There is nothing in his past record that inspires confidence in me that he has the intelligence, wisdom or learning capacity that would enable him to make wholesale changes to this vital program.

There is no urgency to make reforms NOW, just as there was no urgency to remove Saddam THEN. This president doesn't have the ability to perform such complicated tasks and the performance of his cabinet proves he has no talent for nominating competent subordinates.

Senator, I just voted for you (reluctantly). You were reelected in a campaign with absolutely no discussion of Social Security. You, and Bush, have no mandate to 'reform' this program.

I am eagerly awaiting a response to this message.

2. I'll let you know what the Senator says.
I have little hope that she will be a bulwark against the idiots attempt to gut Social Security.

When the election was first framed, I vowed to vote for any opponent of Blanch Lincoln, and there was one and I voted for her. She lost the primary.

So, I vowed not to vote for Lincoln unless her Repuke opponent was surging, and he was.

So, I ended up voting for Lincoln. But, Lincoln's not my type of Democrat.
