Is "family" another word for "hate"?
American Family Association
Family Research Council
Focus on the Family

Are there any groups with the word "family" in their names that aren't members of the hardcore religious right?

2. "Family" is a code word for "social conservative"
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 07:27 PM by InvisibleBallots
Yes, "Family" is a code word for anti-abortion and anti-gay, nearly 100% of the time. If you see a group with the word "Family" in it, chances are it's them.

Also, there are hundreds of state and local groups with various permutations of these names, nearly all containing the word "family".

We let the bastards steal "family" too - here's how to take it back:

3. It's the new version of "States' Rights"
A generation ago, "States Rights" was the code word for the racist/white supremacist agenda.

The homophobes now use "Family" and "Values" as a mask for their visceral hatred of homosexuals.

As always, when someone supports a bad cause, they're ashamed to say what their group is really about.

5. 'Hatred is not a family value'
The AFA can go F themselves. No one in a civilized society would have time for those rejects.

They're not family to me, so I will hate them.

10. heh, anything with "family planning" is an exception
Generally speaking a group described with "family planning" is pro-choice. Good catch, I had forgotten about that one.
