2-3 K..What I was trying to say was that I, too had heard this, ONLY I heard that is was 2-3 thousand. They weren't sure of the number yet.

18. I hope they're all corporate CEOs.
Sorry, but anybody who puts personal profit above their fellow humans doesn't deserve sympathy from me.

2. GEE, maybe somebody should mention this to Bush.
He might actually DO SOMETHING if he knew merkins with the correct skin hue were in trouble.

Nah. He'd have to check their political affiliation or his donor lists first.

Moron takes every opportunity to see that we are subjected to more hatred and derision every day.

20. Bush basers are culturally close minded and xenophobic
You will never ever find them travelling to Thailand, Sri Lanka, or Indonesia (the exception being the corporate family values bussinessman who travels to Asia for sexual reasons)

The furthest afield the typical Bush supporter will go is Hawaii, Florida, or a resort in the Carribean or Mexico. Maybe, just maybe, the somewhat open minded ones will venture as far as London (because they're an America friendly country), but the rest of Europe is out of the question.

21. I think you're wrong
these people feel invincible. they are the financial and cultural elite after all. they travel where they please, always watchful for a potential 3rd world nation to outsource American jobs to.

23. Freepers would rather spend the money on a new SUV/plasma TV
than travel to Europe/Asia and patronize "un-American" countries.

In all my world travels, about 95% of the Americans I run into are die-hard liberals. The progressive community has a firm handle on the world travel circuit. I feel completely comfortable absolutely ripping into Bush when I'm talking to the person next to me on a long train ride because chances are that he/she will feel the same way.

It's not that Republicans and Bush basers can't afford to go anywhere they want. They most likely can. It's just that they have no innate desire to explore the world and experience different cultures/countries like many open minded liberals do. To them, America is the only country that matters and the rest can rot in hell (with the exception of Poland, of course!)

the whole thing is just incomprehensible, esp. seeing what happened in Aceh province. there could be 80,000+ there alone.

7. so how many people overall, if you counted all the current missing
and assumed they'll all turn up dead, are they estimating from his disaster?

Total?

Like, 150,000?

11. I heard 400,000 too....
...and if that number isn't numbing, imagine how their survivors are feeling

I wish Bush would understand the impact this is having Globally and stop stomping his foot and smirking. I just want to "pinch his head" so bad!

16. Don't look for any feelings from*
I think he is a sociopath. Has no conscious, cares nothing about any thing, except himself, and staying in office. I think his daughters will write books years and years from now, about how uncaring he is, because I think they are an after thought to him too, except to get him back into his thrown.

19. I've always known Bush does not have a conscience
what shocks me is even his handlers all together cannot show enough heart to at least PRETEND to make it look like they give a shit. I cringe at the thought of what the world thinks of us, and what I think of us.

12. take Aceh for example...
they are confirming 8000, but the actual total could be 80,000 or, damn, much much more. entire islands have vanished.

17. One Finnish family loses 14 members

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,11816546%255E2703,00.html

THROUGH red eyes, Leon Eklof looks at pictures of his missing grandchildren taken just days before the deadly tsunami swept away 14 of his family members.

His wife Camille translates as Mr Eklof explains in Finnish that the pictures of the family were taken at Christmas. On tour from Finland, most are missing and presumed dead at Khao Lak.

Seven children, including Mr Eklof's three grandchildren, were in the swimming pool of the Rakarang Resort hotel when the water pushed out from Indonesia's massive earthquake flooded Thailand's south coast.

Ms Eklof said one child swimming that day had been found alive. "The one who survived said they had just two seconds to do something, then it was all gone"
