We are very lucky...perhaps some of the citizens who still feel
concern for other people on the earth will enter a new level of awareness about the cost of our imperialism and our 'thrift' in helping what may be 200,000 dead in Asia with most homeless and/or industry and business-less.

Sen Leahy touched on it - we spend 35 million before breakfast in Iraq.

Another way to approach it is - (nor for the faint-hearted).

According to the cost of war website (that's www.costofwar.com), we are near:

$147,562,000,000. That's dollars folks. $147 and 1/2 billion dollars.

There are approximately 15,000 dead Iraqis.

That means it cost us $9,837,466 for each Iraqi killed (thee is another way to phrase that statement if you think about it - I chose the more delicate phrasing.)

Too blunt anyway? Sorry! It's now a fact of our life and our country's history.
