2. You're right!
It was a disgrace anyway, but now it'll be along the lines of a travesty.

4. Especially when one considers that the cost of these parties and balls....
...is more than three times as much as the initial promise of aid made by our government....and $35 million is still $15 million less than the cost of the balls. If Bush had any taste - he'd cancel the parties.

5. And don't forget his scumbag supporters
One good Christian that I duke it out with on a RW board is gloating that he didn't buy anybody any Christmas presents this year (not even his own children) so he could buy himself a 52" plasma television so he could watch the inauguration on it. :puke: This is the same bastard who told me he hated us "hateful lefties" because we don't know how to put the Christ back in Christmas.
:wtf:

16. Oh God hell no.
He's a 53 year old straight white Bush-supportin' male with children who screams at me in all caps. I kid you not. Swore up and down that if Kerry were elected, Kerry was going to destroy all Bibles in the land.

10. I agree
this will be the "coming out party" obscenity that displays succinctly the fascism this country has become.

The White House is grotesquly decorated with forty two bizarre looking trees, and not one common citizen is allowed in to their own house to view the horribly, Laura decorated chaos. They paid for it, yet are not allowed to see the grotesque display unless they have a thousand or more dollars to pay their way in.

It is not a social event meant for the people to celebrate--it is ,indeed, an obscene display of wealth and priveledge, while others are being killed by the thousands in Iraq, and others to the tune of 120,000 of them lying dead waiting to be buried in some mass grave while their people and their families are totally stressed out if not insane with their plight.

But the coronation party goes on,and none of them really care about those others.

They are there to dance, to dress lavishly, to view the first family in all their glittering gowns.

Let them eat cake.

11. when they proceed with the inaugural obscenities . . .
one word should be posted everywhere . . . on the internet, on yard signs, in letters to editors, on the back of every piece of mail you send, on t-shirts -- everywhere . . . and that one word is . . .

SHAME!

13. I thought the RNC, was quite a vulgar display...
just wait for the encore on January 20th. And for the second encore we get the State of the Union on the 30th.

14. Thanks
That is a great idea for a sign. I'll carry it to Washington on coronation day, when I raise my fist to the pigs.

17. Malaysia Cancels New Year Celebrations.
New Year Eve bash cancelled in view of tsunami tragedy
BY V.CHANDRASEKARAN

SUNGAI PETANI: The Government has cancelled all celebrations to usher in the New Year in view of the tsunami tragedy and has called on all parties, including the private sector, to instead hold prayers for the welfare of those affected.

Describing the tragedy as the worst ever encountered by the country, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said: “We are going through hard times now, with hundreds of people affected by the disaster. I have directed the state governments to cancel all functions planned for the New Year.

The Prime Minister said that this was “not the time for us to be happy ushering in the New Year.”

with the attention span of a pizza box, the majority of the Murkin public will be "focused" on other issues.
