Excellent Book "Into the Buzzsaw" - explains why the news is so bad
The book is a collection of essays by mainstream journalists that have been forcibly ejected from the mainstream for investigating stories that the corporate and/or government powers did not want aired.

The collection editor, Kristina Borjesson calls it the "Buzzsaw" - the powerful forces that come into play when a sensitive story is being investigated.

Reading this I understand how our leaders can outright lie, and they contradict themselves, and not be called on it by the media. I also understand why there has not been more hard hitting reporting on the news networks.

This is an excellent book, not one to miss.

4. I suggested it early in the group.
Also has Gary Webb who recently committed suicide (maybe), and many other excellent articles. A must read in my opinion, especially considering how much the media effects our lives in a real way these days.

2. Yeah, Buzzflash gave it a big thumbs up...
I just bought Crossing the Rubicon after watching those Sept. 9-11 hearings online... If you haven't seen them, you got to... It;s the most shocking and damning documentation on the Bush administration I've ever seen.

3. It's a GREAT book...
Read it a couple of years ago...the Monsanto part (where they basically got a news anchor tossed from a news station) was terrifying...

And we wonder why the media is so kowtowed...this book shows the lengths the powers that be will go to to suppress real news...

5. she co-hosts a radio show on wbai
She co-hosts a radio show on wbai
The week before 9-11, they were discussing blow-back,
and she said "don't be surprised when the WTC goes down in flames"
(that's not an exact quote)

6. An absolutely terrifying must read.
So many true life horror stories. Gary Webb's is even more horrifying now.
