The Lone Gunman to be released on DVD - including prescient 9/11 pilot ep
The X-Files spin off "The Lone Gunman" is going to be released on DVD in March 2005.

The set will include the now famous pilot episode, which was aired in March of 2001 and was about a faction of the US government crashing a fully fueled airliner into the WTC and blaming it on foreign terrorists to generate demand for defense spending and set up "dictators all over the world begging to be bombed".

Curiously, nobody in the MSM noticed that this TV show, which aired six months BEFORE 9/11, paralleled the WTC attacks. Of course this puts Condi's famous "nobody could have imagined" lie to even more ridicule.

Analysis of the plot, and 9/11 parallels here:

1. and apparently the plane was hijacked by remote control
but of course that is much too outlandish to explain 9/11.

3. it was also part of a "war games" exercise
from the pilot screenplay:

"The Cold War's over, John. But with no clear enemy to stock pile against, the arms market's flat. But bring down a fully-loaded 727 into the middle of New York City; you'll find a dozen tin-pot dictators all over the world, just clamoring to take responsibility. And begging to be smart bombed."

5. Of course you did. That IAO avatar gives it away
Could they have come up with a more sinister, paranoia inducing logo for the "Total Information Awareness" project?

7. I loved that show
and hated that FOX (the jerks) never gave it the chance they gave to the X-Files.

Still, I can't wait to get the shows on DVD. I had forgotten about their pilot episode.

Pretty weird, huh!

10.  ludicrous fairy tales
"The events of Sept 11 have spawned their fair share of ludicrous fairy tales. And as always, there is - sadly, a small but gullible percentage of the population eager to lap up these tall tales, regardless of facts or rational analysis. One of the wilder stories circulating about Sept 11, and one that has attracted something of a cult following amongst conspiracy buffs is that it was carried out by 19 fanatical Arab hijackers, masterminded by an evil genius named Osama bin Laden from a cave, with no inside help or apparent motivation other than that they "hate our freedoms."
Never a group of people to be bothered by facts, the perpetrators of this cartoon fantasy have constructed an elaborately woven web of delusions and unsubstantiated hearsay in order to promote this garbage across the internet and the media to the extent that a number of otherwise rational people have actually fallen under its spell. These crackpots even contend that the Bush administration was caught unaware by the attacks, even though there was a summer of the "system blinking red". Blindly ignoring the stand down of the US air-force, the insider trading on airline stocks - linked to the CIA, etc..Conspiracy theorists stick to a silly story about 19 lone Arab hijackers who were reportedly under surveillence beforehand, somehow managing to commandeer 4 planes simultaneously and fly them around US airspace for nearly 2 hours, crashing them into important buildings, without the US intelligence services having any idea that it was coming, and despite 67 intercepts that year alone, without the Air Force knowing what to do when it happened."
