Nothing's going to happen...

The complicit Dems in the halls of power are going to sell out their country and roll over for the Bush Crime Syndicate...

Again...

A little bit of history repeatin'...

I figure Senator Bill Nelson might as well sign up to challenge the vote. They are targeting him in 2006 for sure, and he won't stand a chance.

As much as I love Bill Graham, I wish to hell he had not given up his seat.

you might mention that there are over 5,000 Americans missing after the tsunami hit. Our government has been very quiet about it. Do you think its because it might make 9-11 look small in the overall picture of American tragedies?

Former Congresswoman Chisholm Dies at 80
U.S. National - AP
By CORALIE CARLSON, Associated Press Writer

MIAMI - Shirley Chisholm, the first black woman elected to Congress and an outspoken advocate for women and minorities during seven terms in the House, died near Daytona Beach, friends said Sunday. She was 80.

"She was our Moses that opened the Red Sea for us," Robert E. Williams, president of the NAACP in Flagler County, told The Associated Press late Sunday. He did not have the details of her death on Saturday.

Chisholm, who was raised in a predominantly black New York City neighborhood and was elected to the U.S. House in 1968, was a riveting speaker who often criticized Congress as being too clubby and unresponsive.

"My greatest political asset, which professional politicians fear, is my mouth, out of which come all kinds of things one shouldn't always discuss for reasons of political expediency," she told voters.

55. That's sad. I've never heard that before
Media uncurious about Iraq policy's effects—there or here

By Rahul Mahajan

Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: I think this is a very hard choice, but the price—we think the price is worth it.

—60 Minutes (5/12/96)

Then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright's quote, calmly asserting that U.S. policy objectives were worth the sacrifice of half a million Arab children, has been much quoted in the Arabic press. It's also been cited in the United States in alternative commentary on the September 11 attacks (e.g., Alexander Cockburn, New York Press, 9/26/01).

But a Dow Jones search of mainstream news sources since September 11 turns up only one reference to the quote—in an op-ed in the Orange Country Register (9/16/01). This omission is striking, given the major role that Iraq sanctions play in the ideology of archenemy Osama bin Laden; his recruitment video features pictures of Iraqi babies wasting away from malnutrition and lack of medicine (New York Daily News, 9/28/01). The inference that Albright and the terrorists may have shared a common rationale—a belief that the deaths of thousands of innocents are a price worth paying to achieve one's political ends—does not seem to be one that can be made in U.S. mass media.

http://www.bluecorncomics.com/iraq.htm

Failing this, we are asked to consider that they are lesser human beings who somehow deserve their fate or that their death is a reasonable price for us to ask them to pay for our objectives.

When Madeleine Albright, then US ambassador to the UN, was asked on television what she felt about the fact that more than 500,000 Iraqi children had died as a result of sanctions, her now notorious reply was that "it was a hard choice" but that, all things considered, "we think the price is worth it".

57. Democracy Now! Confronts Madeline Albright on the Iraq Sanctions
Democracy Now! Confronts Madeline Albright on the Iraq Sanctions: Was It Worth The Price?

During his presidency, Bill Clinton presided over the most devestating regime of economic sanctions in history that the UN estimated took the lives of as many as a million Iraqis, the vast majority of them children. In May of 1996, 60 Minutes aired an interview with Madeline Albright, who at the time was Clinton"s UN Ambassador. Correspondent Leslie Stahl said to Albright, "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that"s more children than died in Hiroshima. And -- and you know, is the price worth it?"

Madeline Albright replied "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price -- we think the price is worth it." Last night as people filed out of the convention after John Kerry"s speech, we spotted Madeline Albright.

AMY GOODMAN: Secretary Albright--the question I have always wanted to ask' do you regret having said, when asked do you think the price was worth it--

MADELINE ALBRIGHT: I have said 5,000 times that I regret it. It was a stupid statement. I never should have made it and if everybody else that has ever made a statement they regret, would stand up, there would be a lot of people standing. I have many, many times said it and I wish that people would report that I have said it. I wrote it in my book that it was a stupid statement.

AMY GOODMAN: Do you think it laid the ground work for later being able to target Iraq and make it more acceptable on the part of the Bush administration?

MADELINE ALBRIGHT: What? You've got to be kidding.

This is what Mike is talking about...

easy to laugh off these "conspiracy theories" when the crimes commited and the following cover ups have bi-partison support, and those that dare to speak out are so effectively silenced...

The following article was printed in the Thursday, January 30, 1992
issue of the *The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette* on page 7B.

UA GROUP CHARGES CLINTON DID LITTLE ON MENA INQUIRY
http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/RANCHO/POLITICS/MENA/the_arkansas_committee.html

What really happened at Mena

One of the great myths of the Clinton scandals is that Mena -- the major Contra training, supply, and drug running headquarters -- was a myth. One of those with solid evidence to the contrary is William Duncan, the former Special Operations Coordinator for the Southeast Region of the Criminal Investigation Division, Internal Revenue Service. In 1991, Duncan (who had lost his job trying to get to the bottom of the Mena story) gave a deposition to a joint investigation conducted by Rep. William Alexander and the Arkansas attorney general's office, represented by Winston Bryant. Here are some excerpts from the deposition -- giving a vivid snapshot of what was going on and what honest investigators such as Duncan and Arkansas state trooper Russell Welch were up against.
