You remember Sheikh Mohammed. The burly, disheveled, terror-king in the ill-fitting tank top who was arrested in Pakistan in April after what looked to be a three day bender.
Mark Bowden writes in his feature piece in the October issue of The Atlantic Monthly, "The Dark Art of Interrogation", that Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged chief operating officer of Al Qaeda, has confirmed under "Interrogation" that Al Qaeda did NOT work with Saddam Huessin.
There's no weblink to the story until September 16th, but here's the teaser from their website:

A survey of the landscape of persuasion. By Mark Bowden, an Atlantic national correspondent and the best-selling author of Black Hawk Down and Killing Pablo. <snip>
This news will probably not convince the 70% of Americans who believe Saddam was involved in the planning for 9/11...or the 28% of Americans who believe he piloted one of the hiijacked planes (don't ask?!?), but it lays to rest the myth of Al Qaeda- Saddam cooperation which was a major talk point in the Bush Administration's Iraq war run-up.
