There's no time to 'wait' for the next election - as IF it's going to be honest when cheating has been so blatantly successful for the GOP since 2000.

No more Mr and Mrs Nice Guys... play it their way, you're all smarter than the Pugs and you know it - just not quite as mean - GET MEAN. Just ditch the nicey nicey crap, this is your childrens lives you are defending.

Hit the streets and carefully vote with your dollar. and Be Loud and Proud.

4. when you have leadership that seldom does anything positive . . .
it's hard not to be negative . . . I stuck with them through the Iraq war vote, through the Patriot Act vote, through this year's budget vote, and all the rest of the enabling legislation that they've facilitated . . . but I'm not stupid enough to wag my tail at that table scrap they tried to throw us today . . .

next up: Social Security and tort reform . . . I'd stick with them yet again if I had any faith -- any at all -- that the Democrats would fight against BushCo tooth and nail, as a true opposition party . . . based on past experience, however -- as well as their current lack of leadership -- I have no faith that they'll do anything other than enable BushCo to once again have their way . . . and continue their reversal of a half century of social progress in this country . . .

5. This too shall pass

Have patience. There's a lot of internalized idolatry and power addiction being dealt with cold turkey here. The DT's involved are pretty horrifying, it's a good idea to take it all with good humor and remember that it's all screaming at hallucinations.

7. Right, I cheerfully accept out quisling leadership
that bends right down and kiss'es *'s ass every time it really counts.

They ignore us when we write.
They ignore us when we call.
They ignore us when we visit their offices.
They ignore us when we march in the streets by the millions.

They refuse to investigate two fraudulent presidential elections.

Democracy is DEAD in america. It's fight of flight time for anyone left who cares about human rights in this country.

20. Did anybody hear Pat Buchanan's prediction on the McLaughlin Group
last Sunday?

He predicted that by the end of this year, bush's numbers would be in the low forties, and that his administration would be mired down in serious scandals.

Someone off-camera said that Buchanan had said the same thing in his recent book - - the one called something like Where the Right Went Wrong. (?)

I wonder if he knows something, or is just seeing a pattern.

26. Tell you what I Can Do
I can get up off my ass, and get myself over to a real party that believes in real opposition. That would be the Greens friend, and they believe in fighting, not rolling over every time their corporate masters tell them to. And since they take no corporate cash, they have no corporate masters. Novel idea, eh?

Sorry, but I'm not going to remain with a party that has sold out to the very organizations who are hell bent on keeping me down and sheering me like a sheep. Granted, the Greens are a small party(for now, I think in a few years they will grow much larger), but at least they're willing and able to fight, something I can't say for the Dems.

For a long while we have been investing our time, money, and emotions into the Democratic party, each time hoping, praying that they will finally stand up and fight. And every time we're let down when they don't even let out a whimper. But some definitions, that is insanity. I'm not going to participate in madness anymore, I'm going to put my energy and money behind a group that I know is a born fighter. Do you really wish to keep participating in the national madness? If not, come on over where the grass is Greener, and the party actually steps up and fights for its real constituents, the people who support it.

29. A couple of years ago I would have got in your face about your post...
But not today, not after a couple of days ago when the Dems abandoned Boxer when they could have rallied around her. Nothing would have changed with that vote but at least it would have showed the Congress and the WH that we're GD serious about TRUE,FAIR and LEGAL elections.

As is turned out KKkarl was most likely snickering behind the curtain at "one vote Boxer". I'm not ready to switch parties but I'm FUCKING PISSED off at the pantie waste, milque toast crop of em...DEMOCRATS that are in office.

I can't believe after YEARS of this shit they STILL think if they make nicey nice the Repukes will do the same. WAKE THE FUCK UP you FOOLS. They will do anything to win....

40. Wake up self fool.
They are on the same side. They've been for a long time many of them. That way they can channel what is left after the dem vs rep forcewaste done as crowd control. Disheartening the real people by letting them down is the dem role of the power grab. Principled individuals like Boxer will be an exception on the hill because the have no place there today. Except her to meet the fate of Kennedy, Lincoln and King, beeing suicided or having an unfortunate accident.

Its top vs bottom. top dems are still on top side. Repubs will organize brown crowd while the dems will obstruct the organization of the opposing majority. They make a living out of beeing top. They won't abandon it. They care as little for the real opinion of the small man as do bushco. We've got big companies that take over small companies but don't change their names because they don't want let the perception rule its all the same company. Rep-Dem is the same. All other is wishful thinking. Think self, act on your own, look for peers not superiors.

30. I posted this in another forum, but it might fit in here as well -
it's time for the Dems to FINALLY take the gloves off - no more pussyfooting around with cooperating and massaging the "moderate" Republicans in the Senate and the House. Those "moderates" are going to vote for even a modified version of the destruction of Social Security, for any of the extremist judges that Bush throws onto the stage, for Gonzales for Attorney-General, for Rice for Secretary of State, yada yada yada - because THEY ARE REPUBLICANS. Period, end of story.

Josh Marshall over at Talking Points Memo has been waging a campaign on Social Security, exposing Democrats who have either come out in support of Bush's plans, or are likely to do so in the absence of a clear statement otherwise. His point is that the destruction of Social Security should be a solely Republican action, with no cover of bipartisanship - this means that any Democrat who supports Bush on this matter should be targeted for defeat in the primaries in 2006.

I feel that at the same time all Republicans should be tarred with the same brush - newspaper and TV ads should be blunt: "Senator (or representative) X supports Bush's plans for Social Security, which will mean its destruction - are your future benefits safe ??" A simple statement which just may force Republicans to think twice about it, but gives them no place to hide. And that's exactly what the Dems should be doing - giving Republicans, especially the moderate ones, no place to hide.

To my mind these "moderates" should be heavily targeted when they are up for reelection, because in the end they are Republicans and will support Bush no matter what.

Too extreme ??

43. :) i want to believe you.
but the media during the vietnam war era and the media now are two vastly different creatures. our media is closer to hitler germany media. goebbels was a genius on wielding the weakness in the hearts of man, his grip was near iron clad. it took tragic loss and many years before the vietnam war sunk into america's mind, it took the near total destruction of europe before it sunk in to the german people in WWII. two very different things.

like i said before, i want to believe you. but what we are up against is not the same as vietnam. so best of luck, especially working with that democratic party.
