1. I think perhaps this is one we should watch
and if you're leaning towards drinking yourself to oblivion, play the drinking game. Take a good stiff shot everytime Bush F***ING LIES.

4. But I can't afford that much booze!
Besides, I can see the headlines now: "BUSH FINISHES SPEECH, HALF OF AMERICA DIES OF ALCOHOL POISONING". Film at 11.

2. Why?
Pointless unless you enjoy aggravation. There is literally nothing he can say.

3. Only if you're adequately dosed on Dramamine...

He just may give a brilliant FDR/JFK-esque speech that you will hate yourself for missing. Maybe Jesus picked him to announce the official kick-off of Armageddon, and will fly down from the clouds, stand by his side, and personally endorse his candidacy for president in 2004. You wouldn't want to miss that, would you?

5. MF - will this replace Whistle Ass?
I like that it's shorter, but I am fond of Whistle Ass. I guess MF is good for titles.

7. I think this one may be interesting -- Bushler may have to squirm.
He will have the difficult task before him of simultaneously announcing a big change in direction of Iraq policy, while trying in his characteristic way to maintain that he's been right all along. Not even Houdini could do this, & Bushler is no Houdini.

Thus, there is the delightful possibility that he could make a spectacular ass of himself in primetime.

Of course, the specific words he pronounces will all come from his fairly-competent speechwriters. But the little POS probably understands, at some level, that he is in serious danger of going down in flames, here. So his body language & vicious facial expressions may well speak what he's feeling more than the text of what he reads.

It may be fun. I'm planning on watching.

8. I bet
we are going to discuss it in political science class tomorrow, so I want to find some particurally obvious lies and point them out to my (very Republican) class.

13. Oostevo, you should have
a particularly rich crop of lies and inconsistencies to choose from after this evening. Happy hunting.

9. It ought to be good for a laugh or two.
I think that he's going to make it worse for himself. Of course the right wing media will say that he was brilliant, much like the 2000 debates.

14. I feel like I have to watch tonight
sort of like watching a train wreck- I may have to switch back and forth a bit, I do really feel physically ill when I see/hear him speak. And I don't dare play the drinking game- alcohol poisoning is a distinct possibility!

16. I can't stand to watch him speak.
I saw his first SOTU and almost puked so I've never watched another one of his "speeches" again. I'll hear about the lies and stumblings the MF (mother f***er) says on DU afterwards and read excerpts in the online news.

18. Naw. The professional media types that populate this forum
will be compelled to watch and comment. They'll show one side of their face to their profession and the other side to us thus freeing us the dispair of having to watch a train wreck. God, I love DU...watch the speech here, I plan to.

19. It is not going to be live, right?
Guessing it will be precorded blather, which would be a waste of time. However, IF it is live, you better believe I will be watching.
