GET US OUT OF IRAQ NOW!!!
Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 07:51 PM by Walt Starr
Full unilateral withdrawal, nothing else is acceptable!

Get us the fuck out now, we cannot afford it, we do not want it, get the fuck out now!

It was a lie that got us into it, get out, turn over complete control of everything to the U.N and just get the fuck out!

4. yes, by all means
Let's abandon yet ANOTHER country so ANOTHER dictator can take hold and terrorists can find ANOTHER place to hide out...

Face it, this country fucked up by supporting W. Even if you and I and the countless others on here tried to warn them, what's done is done and we have to deal with the mess.

I would totally support a truly international coalition, and I don't doubt the UN could handle nation building better than the US, but unless all these other countries are willing to say, "suuure we'll put our children in harms way so you Americans can avoid the mess we told you not to create EVEN THOUGH you won't accept any power sharing and want to keep total control of everything that happens", well, we. are. fucked.

AND, quite frankly, we deserve it. Maybe next time some unelected fraud tries to start an unecessary war the dimwitted people of this country will listen....I won't be taking that bet, though.

(In case you didn't notice I'm feeling a bit bitter this evening...)

5. That's why we turn it over lock stock and barrel to the U.N.
They have 100% control of everything.

20. I'm bitter too
This country is filled with idiots, mostly Whimmies (White hetero males) who have never had a thought in their pitiful lives. I can see Canada from my area and I mourn my inability to move there, and get out while the getting's good, because as a gay man I'll be in the first group to go.

These puny twerps will never give up power, NEVER. They'll call on the NRA to organize intimidation squads, the lunatic christians will kill us to save us. We're in deeper trouble than most think. Look what happened when the Republican governor of Tennessee tried to just talk about raising taxes at a special session of the legislature: Conservative talk-show hosts went on the air and collected a crowd of thousands (may be exaggerated no's, think not though) to converge on the statehouse, where they stoned the building. The special session was called off.
There will be one more semi-competative election and then the excrement will hit the air mover. The dream of America is almost dead. I love this country, fought for it in the Nam war, but I am demoralized by the insanity that grips this country. There are still people (lots of them) that 'think' that we're the good guys, when 95% of the rest of the world, those'ignerrent furriners', KNOWS the truth. Please, someone give me some comfort and show me that I'm wrong, as I FERVENTLY HOPE THAT I AM.

6. What about the country we slaughtered and destroyed?
Assuming the UN still wants to help the US despite how we treated them, and they know the shitty financial shape we're in so I'd still applaud them if they did the sensible and right thing by telling us to stick hot pokers up our rectums... ("us" meaning everybody FOR the invasion/occupation... The vast majority of us on DU are against the whole invasion/occupation/slaughter/pointless destruction so we're cool and morally safe!)

We simply can't leave them to die; that'll make them hate us even more - and not forgetting the surrounding countries who then might help Iraq but do all they could to destroy US, not that I'd blame them - Bush* should be more than just impeached and jailed for his vicious war crime...

Bush* has created one whopping problem. And even if a terrorist kills me in an act of vengeance against the US, I will die knowing that Bush* will hopefully receive an even worse fate, for he* deserves no less. For death, to me, isn't as bad as life in some ways. Who knows, for all we know, half of the 9/11 victims would be unemployed and begging for food or suffering in other ways if he* didn't let it happen on purpose.

16. I agree with you HypnoToad
I remember going to protest after protest. I am saddened that all we feared has come to pass. My brother-in-law was over hear last weekend and said "Who thought all this would happen?" My sister and I raised our hands. Now that we are there we cannot simply pack up and leave. A plan would be nice. We still have depleted uranium to clean up. Is anyone taking care of that?

12. LOL!
Amazing how the more things change the more they stay the same, isn't it? Those who want us to stay can spend THEIR FUCKING TAX DOLLARS that most of us don't have on it, and then we can live in a country totally bankrupted because all of our money went to prop up oil gazillionares in Iraq!

15. Almost on your side
Turn it over to the UN, pay for the entire reconstruction, and pull our troops out. Not really because of the troops, but it's probably the only hope the Iraqis really have.

This 'speech' by Bush was the worst, no words to describe it... just horrible. I see absolutely no hope that the Bushies begin to get it. They're still trying to make a terrorist/Iraq connections, misrepresenting the government over there, all of it, it's just so damned disgusting.

...when we were still rubbing sticks together to start a fire. They know how to build real well. We just have to pay for it.
