Ann Coulter gets handed her scrawney butt on a platter!
I just watched "Scarborough Country" on MSNBC, and as a counterpoint to Ann Coulter, they had Willie Brown.

Brown wiped the floor with Coulter.

Brown showed how Reagan did many things right, and simply reduced Coulter to agreeing with him, or just slamming "the liberals" like she always does.

(The topic was "the second-term curse")

1. Using Reagan to attack Baby Bush is a clever tactic
Conservatives are really stumped when you compare Reagan's oratory to Bush the Baby, or Reagan's leadership to Bush the Baby, or Reagan's fiscal policy, which seems responsible when compared to Bush the Baby.

8. I do it all the time, then point out that Bush the Baby really hates
and is jealous of Reagan. They can't handle that. But I see them thinking, or at least trying to rub their two brain cells together.

2. Wish I had seen it. Willie's not every progressive's favorite --
-- politician, but I doubt he's askeered of a reactionary shrew like Ann Coulter.

Good for Willie.

5. If she didn't make outrageous statements, she wouldn't get on TV
And she knows it.
I think at this point she gets booked to "liven up" a news show.
They can always count on her to be contrary.

Today Randi Rhodes quoted her as saying that If she could go back in time she would like to be FDR so she could undo the "New Deal".

I wish she would marry Dennis Miller and jump together from "Lover's Leap".....Head first.

I would pay good money to see that! LOL! LOL!

BTW, is she ever on Dennis's show? I get so tired to seeing her on Bill Maher.

7. I like Willie, but Willie you're wrong.
Reagan was the master of disaster. He did not do one thing right.

He is regarded by historians as the worst president of the twentieth century. Inept, fumbling, racist, stupid, ill, corrupt and evil are terms I use to describe the lying S.O.B. I have regarded Reagan as the worst ever followed closely by Nixon. Now everything is up in the air with the Texas Turd in office.

Getting a complete right wing nut case to agree with you because you mentioned the pig headed Reagan is clever but not honorable or honest. Shame on you Willie.

No good Dem should ever invoke Reagan's name in the same sentence with the words "right" or "good" included. Reminds me of Lynn Cheney saying, " Republicans are good because we're right". Praising St. Reagan is the same as Repukes mentioning John F. Kennedy in the pandering way that they do.

As for Ann the Man Coulter. She/he would have to stand on her/his mother's shoulders to kiss Reagan's ass.

9. I too, was uncomfortable with Willie's...
shoveling of accolades onto ronnie racist. And while it did effectively shut coulter down (she hardly spoke in the segment) you could clearly see her pleasure at what W.Brown was saying, and it took a great deal of historical revising to get to where Willie was getting. I will add that ronnie racist was the first election I was able to vote in, and he made me the activist that I have become, after his racist campaign start in Philadelphia, Mississippi. But even I pine for those days when I look at the sociopathic radicals we have now.

10. I'd love to know what Reagan did "right" for the good of all the US
He did a damn good job if you were a rich SOB or a CEO of a defense company. If you were either one you received piles of cash off the backs of the working class because of that dottering old fool.

He cut taxes for the wealthy, increased taxes on the middle and lower class, put over 10 MILLION out of work--a number not seen since the Great Depression when another Repuke ran the country.

He busted Unions, kept minimum wage workers locked in a their rate for all EIGHT years of his Presidency. Spent most of his time clearing brush and riding horses at tax payer expense.

Reagan did something good for average Americans?? What the hell was it??

11. Well, I think he did do a somewhat better job than ** when it came
to preserving land??

I agree with you, though. RR was a disaster for this country, and the second coming of his cabinet is proving to be so again.

14. one thing Reagan did right was convert my Dad from GOP to Dem
Dad was the only Republican in the family. He saw Reagan for what he was, a cheap hustler. He went into a serious depression when he figured out he'd been lied to all his life by his political heroes. After 8 years of Reagan he changed parties and became a radical leftie. When he died he asked for donations to the ACLU in lieu of flowers.

12. Willie was wrong for that
I enormously respect Willie Brown's ability to mix it up and talk shit but this was an exercise in thoughtless sophistry. Reagan was Grendel's mother, without his infamous persona we wouldn't be here today. Any attempt to justify or glorify his evil ass relies on repub talking points. May he rot............

13. What?
"Brown showed how Reagan did many things right, and simply reduced Coulter to agreeing with him, or just slamming "the liberals" like she always does."

How is that good? Coulter thinks Reagan is God, and she was agreeing with Brown that he was, and slamming the liberals as usual.

I saw that segment. Brown was awful. I'm pretty sure he forgot to bring up Iran-Contra, or the fairness doctrine, or the breaking down of unions, or the debt Reagan started, or the war on the poor, or anything else.

They're very good at making history disappear. They put Coulter on, who never mentions anything Reagan did wrong, and as the liberal counter to Coulter, they put someone on who didn't mention anything Reagan did wrong, while saying that Reagan was a fine President, with good people around him.

Ah, the media.

How can you say that Brown wiped the floor with Ann by agreeing with her? I don't get it.
