Oh! What tangled web we weave……

...when first we practice to deceive":

The first administration victim of the Bush Family syndrome has taken his hit. George Tennet is the only one in a long line of people who have either had their careers destroyed, face imprisonment, or actually gone to jail due simply to association with the Bush family.

The list of destroyed people starts with those who conspired and covered for Bush I in Irangate. Adding to the list are many of the business partners in Neil’s Silverado theft. Jeb added to the list with his business partner’s in crooked land deals.

Yes, you associate with the Bush Family and in all likelihood you are going to be destroyed. Fun how they, the Bush’s, always walk away clean.

1. Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas.
The idea of power is so seductive, that it is frightening what some people will do -- the lengths to which they will bend -- to acquire and maintain it. In Tenet's case, it looks as if it has now bitten him in the ass. Resignation soon, I expect.

2. just wondering
Since the "news" about Niger forgery hit the "front pages" this week... something has been bothering me

first I'll admit that I do have a tendency to wear :tinfoilhat:

What bothers me: Shortly after SOTUS speech, the UK papers ran articles saying that the papers were a forgery. Powell did not use them in at the UN, and the International Atomic Energy Agency in March said they were forgeries.

This all happened prior to the Iraq Invasion, and there was hardly a ripple from our "hardnose" media at that time about the "inaccuracies"

So why would AWOL & Co. admit to it 4 months later? Up until AWOL & Co. opened their pieholes about it there was next to nothing in the media. I know that the Ambassador (sorry forgot his name :eyes: ) stated there was nothing to the allegations -but that had been in the paper a couple of months ago and no hoop-dee-la at that time either.

So why admit to it NOW? Admitting to it would just stir up things, like it did....

:tinfoilhat: Could admitting to this "little lie" be a diversion to cover-up a bigger lie?

Bear with me for a second more - During Clinton's terms we had one investigation after another and none of it really panned out. By the time the impeachment proceedings started the public was pretty tired of the GOPers screams and accusations. This is partly why I believe the public sentiment went against impeachment - the public had enough of the screams and accusations.

Ok so, AWOL admits to "...16 little words...", the Dems start yelling for investigations, impeachment, tar and feathering. Tenet offers himself up as the sacrificial lamb, end of the story about who was responsible for the Niger documents.

Now fast forward a couple of months, the Sept. 11 report hits the papers, Dems are up in arms again, then AWOL has someone else fall on their sword....

Keep this "pattern" going and soon the public is going to grow tired of hearing it...

3. That is not so far afield, because it fits the Rove model
little drips at a time.

4. That is why we need to step up the pressure even more NOW.
I avoid tinfoil hats, they crush my 'do, but you may be onto something. Rove is nothing if not a shrewd little bastard turd.

If we let the pressure up on Congress even the tiniest bit, the whole thing will fizzle away. Even if other crimes/misdemeanors come up, we've GOT TO FOCUS ON THE BIG LIE, unless the next lie, etc. turns out to be deadlier than even this one; I'm pretty sure you know what I'm getting at.

Do they make tinfoil barrettes???

5. I see it a bit differently.
The media has now been given the green light to take Shrub down

There are serious signs of a major political revolt brewing in the United States – one that could end the Bush Presidency – George W. Bush still has his finger on the trigger and he knows that his only hope for survival is to pull it. U.S. and British intelligence agencies are leaking documents left and right disputing White House "evidence" against Iraq that has repeatedly been shown to be falsified, plagiarized and forged. Quiet meetings are being held in Washington between members of Congress and attorneys like Ramsey Clark discussing Bush's impeachment. Leaders of the World Trade Organization (WTO), as reported in a March 15 story in the International Herald Tribune have said, "All international institutions would suffer a loss of credibility if the one superpower appeared to be choosing which rules to obey and which to ignore." And a Rockefeller has called for an investigation of a Bush. On March 14 The Associated Press reported that W. Va. Senator Jay Rockefeller has asked the FBI to investigate forged documents which were presented first by Britain and then the United States showing that Iraq had been trying to purchase uranium from the African country of Niger for its weapons program. Of all the glaring falsehoods told by the administration the fact that these forgeries were noted by a Rockefeller may make them the second-rate Watergate burglary of the 21st century. (See Part II)

There are few things more closely connected to or identified with Bush family power than globalization and the Rockefellers. He has most likely failed both of them and both have the power to remove him.

Too much, too little, too late; at least as far as preventing a war and massive carnage is concerned. But these developments suggest that the real powers that be might be getting ready to have Bush impeached just as soon as he has humiliated the United States, started a World War leading to the deaths of perhaps millions of people, destroyed the efficacy of the United Nations and secured the Iraqi oil fields. This is a playing field which the biggest money might desire and for which it might be willing to offer a sacrifice if it becomes necessary. If the war turns out to be a dismal failure then the scapegoat has volunteered for his own hanging and there are signs that it is being prepared.

One thing is certain. If George W. Bush is removed from within, it will signal nothing other than a new "kinder, gentler" set of managers pursuing the exact same agenda as before. The dirtiest work will have been done.

6. it won't matter if bush goes down if...
...he is merely replaced by a dem party ceo with the same basic goals and corporate interest bottom line.

what will be essential for america is for whoever the "replacement" is, i.e., whoever gets the "green light" to be the new ceo, is willing to FULLY expose the evils of the junta and ALL its collaborators. otherwise, it'll be same vinegar, different bottle.

you'll pardon me if i don't hold my breath waiting for that to happen. i'm still waiting for the appropriate national discussion on the 60's assassinations, watergate, vietnam, bcci, iran contra, etc.
