4. Roger that!!!
A wonderful man... truly the best that evangelical Christianity can be. Warm-hearted, humorous, self-deprecating, and kind.

:loveya:

His best story was about his second conversion, which he said came when he reread the sermon on the mount--the passage where Jesus says that when you hurt the least of God's children, you hurt me, and so on.

I'm buddhist, by the way, but I am definitely down with this guy! He knows the meaning of the Prince of Peace!

:toast:

3. He talked about his book
which is called something like Why the right gets it wrong and the left doesn't get it. He talked about how jesus wants us to care for the poor because what we do to the most helpless, we do to jesus. Said we should be taking care of the environment and we should not be at war with Iraq. He said the evangelicals need to change the perception most people have of them.

5. I was so impressed
That I'm going to go out and buy his book today.

And I'm an atheist!

The book sounds like a good manual on how to address the "moral values" voters. Maybe he's right. The right is wrong, and the left doesn't get it.

6. He talked about how much Jesus said about fighting poverty and how

that is a moral value. Very good show!
