Condi will be a good poster gal for Bush's duplicitous foreign policy
If he didn't choose Condi, Bush would have still chosen some hawkish creep to carry out his imperialistic, world domination scheme. It's unrealistic to expect that the Senate could indefinitely keep him from appointing some compliant, apologist henchperson to compliment his fascist world view.

Rice, at least, will be hobbled by the demonstrated lies she has made in support of the manufactured Iraq war and all of the rest of Bush's warmongering shell games. Same with her deputy Stephen Hadley who took her place as National Security Adviser. Both are ripe for immediate attack by critics, using their own past statements and blunders, whereas, new, un-vetted, unknown nominees would get a 'grace period' before we could wrap them up in their new found duplicity.

Democrats who are being described as 'spineless' for caving in by voting to confirm are likely just angling for anticipated ambushes on these conservative cretin's credibility. I'm sickened and outraged by all of the appointments, but I look forward, with some glee, to making toadies like Rice and Hadley eat their crap as they attempt to pull their heads out of Bush's ass.

1. Good point. Powell was seen as his own man by the public. Rice is BushInc
ALL the way. She won't get the breaks that Powell got from the public. That is, IF there is ANY honest press left in this God-forsaken country.

2. 9-11 Commission testimony
BEN-VENISTE: Isn't it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6 PDB warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?

RICE: I believe the title was, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States."

Now, the...

BEN-VENISTE: Thank you.

RICE: No, Mr. Ben-Veniste...

BEN-VENISTE: I will get into the...

RICE: I would like to finish my point here.

BEN-VENISTE: I didn't know there was a point.
