4. that explains why their catering services are so bad.
have mormon relatives and a few ex-mormon friends. sometimes really nice acquaintences as people, but far from the best cooks in the world. their food is overwhelmingly bland.

when i was in certain colleges and a few camps the food would be catered by Marriott. the food blew so bad that i'd enter starving into the buffet, stare at the food, beeline for the dry cereal, fruits, make your own salads, and ice cream. i lived off french fries and couscous one whole month (very bad for intestines). sometimes i'd not want dry cereal, salads, or ice cream; i'd go in starving, stare at the food and not be hungry, and leave starving. god the food was atrocious. it was like all flavor was ruthlessly purged from food.

when i went into the hotel's buffets again the food would be mind-blowingly tasteless. runny scrambled eggs, laughable pastries, disgustingly bland potato and macaroni salads, etc. painful, utterly painful. but i always wondered why. you'd think different hotels would hire different chefs or something, at least some sort of variance would appear. but no, it was always bad from marriott. now i think you've just given me the missing link as to why the food is so nightmarishly boring.

I'll still go to the Mariott. Actually, I always prefered the Residents Inn by the Marriott but I think Woodflin bought out that division...A good thing.

A good choice if you go into Washington D.c area. I have stayed in them in Charlotte, N.C, Des Moines, Iowa and Dublin, Ohio. Not yet in D.C.....

7. In all honesty, I do save money.....
I get the rooms with the kitchen, living room accommodations. I really save by cooking in vs eating out. I can have guests.....I can relax, get on the computer, sip affordable wine.....My trips usually involve some sort of activism or work-related ventures.

I look for bed-n-breakfast spots when I travel for fun.
