To the supporters of the party and president of "moral values".
On this day of the inauguration of the presidential candidate whom you deemed to be the most moral, of the party that you feel most represents the moral values that this country needs, I offer you congratulations. For getting elected a president you have embraced because he is not afraid to follow the teachings of the Bible, I offer you my admiration.

In the spirit of celebrating his privately-funded $40 million dollar inauguration party (where some tickets costing $250,000) I would like to share these words of wisdom from that Bible:

Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains.

Timothy 6:17
As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share, thus storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of the life that really is life.

May we all remember these words over the next 4 years. Peace be with you always

1. Beautiful post.
* has tried to bastardize the teachings of Christ. This is a great reminder that he is not following the teachings of Christ one iota.

Can I put this on my website?

3. Sure - I'd be honored if anyone
felt that was worthy to use. Thank you for your kind words.

Please Note: though the post is original, I got the quotes from the website I linked to that I found today after clicking on a link in another post from DU.

So the idea itself is not original but I am not involve with that website (or any) in any way.

2. and another thing
stealing an election, starting wars for oil that kill hundreds of thousands, overlooking your own multitude of sins while executing every prisoner on your watch, engaging in what was clearly insider trading, stealing another election, lining the pockets of your rich friends, selling our democracy out to extremist religious interests and violating every principle of individual freedom and the very idea of America because your third grade intellect never grasped the significance of what America is in any way other than a tool to be used to make you richer - take your fucking moral values and shove them up your ass George Bush.
