Boulder Church Buries Ashes of Aborted Fetuses
Church goes public with its practice of burying ashes of aborted fetuses

BOULDER - Suzie LaVelle says the cremated remains of more than 2,000 aborted fetuses are buried at the cemetery at Sacred Heart of Mary Parish in Boulder. This weekend, the church plans on adding at least 600 more.

"If we did not bury the ashes, where would they be? Would they be thrown away? Would they be sitting in a closet?" she says as she stands beside the church's "Memorial Wall for the Unborn."

Until this week, it was a bit of a secret within the parish. Now, that secret is out.

"I am appalled that the Catholic Church again has shown its willingness to exploit the private grief and pain of women seeking legal abortions in order to advance its political goals," says Dr. Warren Hern, the Director of the Boulder Abortion Clinic. Hern says, until this week, even he didn't know the aborted fetuses were ending up at Sacred Heart of Mary.

A Boulder mortuary is the supplier. For years it has picked up the aborted fetuses at the Boulder Abortion Clinic and offered to cremate the remains. What Crist Mortuary's management never told Dr. Hern was that they were then sending the cremated ashes to the church.

This week LaVelle started talking openly to the media about the practice. This Saturday marks the 32nd anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. "None of this is meant to hurt anyone," she insists.

On Sunday the church will bury over 600 cremated fetuses. Now that the Boulder Abortion Clinic knows about the practice, LaVelle says she knows this may be the last time they do this.

2. That's the only thing that has ever bothered me about my LDS friends
The fact that they feel it is their duty to try to "baptise" the souls of their dead reletives and friends into Mormonism. I just think it's wrong.

Church Plans to Bury the Ashes of Fetuses From Abortion Clinic

By David Kelly Times Staff Writer

BOULDER, Colo. — A Catholic church plans to bury the ashes of as many as 1,000 aborted fetuses Sunday, raising a storm of protest from those who accuse it of exploiting the pain and grief of women for political purposes.

The Sacred Heart of Mary Church obtained the ashes from a mortuary that had a contract to cremate remains from the Boulder Abortion Clinic. But the clinic said it didn't know the ashes were being given to the church.

"They have taken it upon themselves to make a macabre ritual out of this, inflicting pain on everyone," said clinic director Dr. Warren Hern. "I have women calling me who are very upset over this. These fanatics simply cannot leave other people alone with their most intimate sorrow."

Hern said Crist Mortuary, which does the cremations, had violated a contract that said remains would not be used in religious ceremonies. He called their actions "unconscionable" but declined to say if he planned to sue.

Nope, no room ... too many Catholic priests are in the closet, dear.

6. like the catholic church doesn't have enough pedofilic skeletons of its
own to bury -- why don't these people concentrate on the REAL deaths of children's spirits that their own priests have betrayed and killed off?

What arrogant hypocrisy!
