7. Don't think they haven't planned for it.
Betcha a lot of DUers never heard of Rex 84. VP Bush, Oliver North and the rest of the kooks had plans to incarcerate Americans who protested a possible was in Nicaragua, El Salvador or other Central American country that needed U.S. intervention.

It's also sad to think how many of America's citizen-patriots manning those militias were to be of assistance in the round-ups of dissidents who opposed military intervention in Central America. Gee. It all changed after Oklahoma City.

Rep. Jack Brooks, D-Texas, brought the subject up during the joint Iran-Contra hearing. He asked the traitor North if it were true, that the U.S. had a plan in place to suspend the Constitution. North looked scared and turned to his attorney, Something Sullivan IIRC, who proceeded to cover up the mic and whisper something into Ollie's ear.

Suddenly, Sen. Dan Inouye, D-Hawaii, interrupted and said (paraphrasing): "This is a question we should consider behind closed doors." And that ended public government discussion on this particular Reagan-Bush treason.

8. Soon it will be illegal to even DISCOURAGE people from joining up.
From what I understand, part of USA PATRIOT Act II is the criminalization of interfering with the draft. Whether its information, tacit support or direct action, people will go to jail for simply telling, let alone assisting, someone from joining up or being drafted.

We're in some deep doo-doo. Folks, it ain't America if we can't talk about stuff anymore. Might move south to Canada.

9. Say What??!! Patriot Act II will criminalize for
me trying to keep my grandson out of the draft? If so, this is truely the end. Not the end for everyone but certainly for many; including me.

OMG, I wish DU were a secret place where we could say what we REALLY think/feel/wish without penalty. :grr:

5. "a fairly robust new nuclear program"
In an interview with syndicated radio host Don Imus, Cheney said Iran is pursuing "a fairly robust new nuclear program" and "is a noted sponsor of terror."

6. Will only those who INVESTED in GWB's political capital PAY for ,...
,...the losses and debt he will bring upon this country?

No.

You see,...that's how "privatization" and "Wall Street" and corporatism works. They fool you, make huge profits, then screw you.

"Freedom" is a loose term thrown around by those who have the freedom to screw all others.

10. All of this makes me so sad, not to mention frightened.
Sad though is really what I feel right now. Fear is sure to follow. I don't think we can change anything right now. At one time I thought the American spirit of what is right would change things, but I don't feel that hope anymore.

11. If it wasn't obvious before yesterday, it sure as hell is now.
Get ready - we'll be drafted or nuked. So much the better either way; the human race is beyond recrimination at this point.
