How was yesterday for you??
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 11:00 PM by ailsagirl
I wore my bright orange t-shirt to work and I didn't spend a dime. My boss was out (he's repug) so the rest of us could freely talk about King Chimp's Coronation. We played the latest JibJab a bunch of times and laughed a lot. I downloaded some sound files on my computer so that now when I get an email, I hear the sound of a chimpanzee going bonkers. When I got home, a friend called to say that CSPAN was televising the protestors!! I set my VCR to record and am just getting ready to watch it.

My friend and I are going to hear Professor George Lakoff (who wrote "Don't Think of an Elephant: Know Your Values and Frame the Debate") on Sunday. I can't wait.

I've always felt it was important to be able to deflect the repug BS rhetoric-- Boxer did a great job with Rice the other day. Every time Rice tried to change the subject or cloud the issue, Boxer kept bringing her right back. It's one of their more potent weapons but I know we can disarm them with the right strategy.

It wasn't a HAPPY day but I did what I could to get through it.

How did the rest of you do??

2. I wore my bright orange shirt to garden.
I didn't go anywhere or spend any money. No one saw me or talked to me, but I tried. After the fact I learned that there was a big anti-inauguration/war protest in the nearest city. I wish I would have known. I would have gone.

7. Yesterday was fine for me

I wore black. By coincidence, I didn't have any work to do (I work at home) so I spent most of the day here at DU monitoring what was going on in Washington since we didn't want to watch anything about it on TV. Between 4:00 and 6:00 we demonstrated. Came home and watched "Hearts and Minds" on Discovery-Times channel - a very moving 1974 movie about what went wrong in Vietnam, incredibly timely given recent events. Should be required viewing for ** and all of his draft-evading hawk friends.

on ed -- Oh, and we didn't spend a cent.

8. $40 Million party could have bought food, medicine and kevlar.
That thing about a rich man and the eye of a needle is inevitable truth.
