Check THIS out!
Women really don't get math: Just look at Condi Rice

By MAUREEN DOWD

<snip>

It's lucky for Rice that she's serving with men who are just as lame at numbers as she is. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz couldn't be bothered to tally correctly the number of dead soldiers when he testified before Congress. And his boss, Donald Rumsfeld, didn't realize that using an autopen signature on more than 1,000 letters to the relatives of fallen troops adds up to zero solace.
Our new top diplomat has obviously not mastered fractions. When she asserted during her confirmation hearing that 120,000 Iraqi troops had been trained, Sen. Joe Biden corrected her, saying she was off by a bit. His calculation of trained Iraqi troops was actually 4,000 -- hers was 30 times that. Maybe she's confusing hyperbole and hypotenuse.

Her geometry is skewed if she thinks she'll now be more powerful than Rummy and Dick Cheney. Doesn't she know that the Pentagon has more sides than her Crawford triangle with George and Laura?

<snip>

~~~~~~~~~~~
Holy cow!!!!!!!
For those keeping score, add that to the list of other, um, oddities.....
Okay, we actually have eight tidbits already here.
1. Condi spends a lot of weekends and holidays with Bush. I've not seen a photo of her with a date or even an escort. Do most people in high-pressure jobs spend major holidays with their boss at isolated locations like Crawford or Camp David?
2. Allegedly, Condi said "my husb--", then corrected herself at a party, to say "President Bush." (Hey, if not true, why was it reported? That has a nearly equal number of hypotheses to go with it.) Here is the text:
...At a dinner party hosted by New York Times D.C. bureau chief Philip Taubman and his wife, Times reporter Felicity Barringer, and attended by Arthur Sulzberger Jr., Maureen Dowd, Steven Weisman, and Elisabeth Bumiller, Rice was reportedly overheard saying, “As I was telling my husb-” and then stopping herself abruptly, before saying, “As I was telling President Bush.” Jaws dropped, but a guest says the slip by the unmarried politician, who spends weekends with the president and his wife, seemed more psychologically telling than incriminating. Nobody thinks Bush and Rice are actually an item. A National Security Council spokesman laughed and said, “No comment.”
http://nymetro.com/nymetro/news/people/columns/intelligencer/n_10245/
3. The plastic turkey trip to Iraq Thanksgiving before last. I don't have this one handy, but there was a reference to her saying that as they snuck out of DC with baseball caps to elude the press, Condi and George "looked like any other couple".
4. Someone at DU posted Blementhal's wording in Salon:
<<http://www.salon.com/opinion/blumenthal/2004/04/08/condi/index.html>>
"Single and single-minded in her devotion, she is among his most intimate aides, accompanying him and the first lady on their weekends to Camp David."
DU poster wrote: "The wording is very suggestive and Blumenthal is careful about his wording."
5. The Aaron McGruder "BOONDOCKS" cartoon series, which asked who would Condi date? What kind of man or woman? It was quite persistent, went on and on, for many days.
5B. Okay, actually, maybe this is the kicker. Look at who didn't run the series. "The Washington Post chose not to run a recent series about national security adviser Condoleezza Rice." --Houston Chronicle, January 19, 2004. The Post, according to some who dig into these things, has a longstanding CIA connection (I can't vouch for that).
6. They fought tooth and nail to keep her from testifying re 9-11. Claimed the president needs to have confidential advisors. (Yeah, but the way they did it seemed almost like they were asserting a husband/wife privilege.)
7. DU poster said that Richard Clarke when testifying at the 9-11 commission said it is important for a President and a National Security Advisor to have a close relationship and that no NSA has ever had a closr relationship with a President than Condi has with Bush. The poster wrote (this was months ago): "As soon as he said that I figured they were having an affair. There was something about his tone."
8. Colin Powell announces he will resign as Secretary of State. CBS News says that Condi will be offered the job -- 11 15 04. A clip of Bush is shown walking toward a podium, and he gives Condi a little kiss on the cheek as he passes by her.
1. It wouldn't surprise me but why should I care?
They are both grownups and I'm sure if it is going on, it is not behind Laura's back.
5. Of course it isn't behind Laura's back...
She's so stoned most of the time she wouldn't care if Bunnypants was setting off fireworks in the bathroom.
Why hide a little bouncy-bouncy.
7. Maybe Laura watches or .....
....... maybe ....... do the geometry yourself. You sickos!
LOL
The sad thing about Ms. Rice is that in January of '01 Ms. Rice had out going
NSA in her office for an hour and he kept telling her bin Laden & al Qaeda are
the biggest threats to the U.S. and gave her his files and the most recent data.
SHE DID NOTHING! ON 9-11 SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO GIVE A TALK ABOUT AN ANTI-
MISSLE SYSTEM AS THE MOST IMPORTANT SECURITY ISSUE FACING THIS COUNTRY.
So if she get her morals or rumors about her and bush get out .... Tough.
:nuke:
"We do not want the proof to be a mushroom cloud." C. Rice & others.
9. Here's why.
1. Bush is seen by his supporters as a Christian, honest man. A good fellow. Simply lying and furthering abominable policy and killing 100,000 Iraqis and running up trillions in debt does not faze them. This would.
2. If it is true, it is likely the relationship pre-dates her employment as NSA. That would mean he hired his affair to do one of the most important jobs in the administration (one she was arguably not qualified for, since her expertise was in Soviet Russia, not the Middle East -- and, one she arguably failed miserably at, given 9-11). Now, she is up for one of the highest cabinet positions in the administration. Why? Because she did such a good job as NSA? Or??????????????
3. Compare to the treatment Clinton got from the media, and the impeachment. Because regardless of so-called moral values, it would be worse from a policy standpoint to be hiring your affair to run important aspects of the government, than to just be having an affair with an intern. Hypocrisy? Oh, maybe just a smidgeon.
4. Where is the media? What will it take to make them spill the beans (if there are beans)?
And maybe she's into three-ways.
I could go a lot further but I know about the "no sex thread" thing.
10. It does matter to me.. and here's why.
I know we'll get the usual 'it's a free country' posts on this subject. BUT.. Condi's NSA position, and the SOS, are crucial to OUR security. If someone is in that job for the wrong reasons, if someone is emotionally compromised in her REAL priority, which was SUPPOSED TO BE KEEPING US SAFE, then it matters.
Then.. there's that little matter of family values that has been shoved down our throat for the past 4 years. Clinton had a FLING with an intern.. that had no bearing on our national safety, had no bearing on the day to day workings of the country (except for the relentless pursuit to take Clinton down, thereby distracting the country from the REAL problems). Because I'm tired of the 'do as we say, not as we do' political Christians who are trashing out Country right now.
11. Add Bush's nickname for Condi is "sweetness"
Also some of the pictures with the two facing each other sure make them look like a couple. She does the fawning look much better than even Laura Bush.
14. I think they are, umm, you know - doing the unspeakable
that lots of chrstian right wingers do behind closed doors with someone other than their spouse. And I think that this would be THE subject that would bring down Bu$hCo - you know how they impeached Clinton for the same thing. A sincere investigation into this is called for - do you agree?
19. F-U-C-K-I-N...No, that's unfair, she's a classic girl Friday
who bolster's GW's ego and supports his deficient intellect. She's a pathetic specimen, and it's more Georgie Porgie's needs than her abilities that shape the relationship. She happens to have degrees from prestigious universities, but in that is one in 10,000 at least, so somehow the chemistry of co-dependency dictates.
Either way, they're both incompetent - a perfect match!!
22. Strange... I was just noticing his more guilty looking than usual
body language in a clip where he was presenting Rice as Sec'y of State. Notice how tense his arms are. The man is a bundle of nerves. It wouldn't surprise me if they were involved in some kinky cult activity that involves sex. How else would they be able to do the awful things they do if they weren't the puppets of some other actors who probably use sex in their mind control programs. I put NOTHING past this group of GOP Ghouls.
