3). Admitting a mistake. There are so MANY, it's hard to tell where to begin.

4). Withdrawing the Gonzales and Rice nominations.

There are NO strong voices telling the truth on prime-time TV. I think it's TV that's the key; most everyone has at least one (most have several), and it's on ALL the time.

Bush side-stepped the assault weapons ban during the campaign. Kerry embraced it and blew off West Virginia's electoral votes just like Gore did in 2000. I suspect it made the difference in some other close states too.

If Bush went for it now, note that Gonzales favors it, the NRA crowd would abandon him. I suspect they'd have stayed home and not voted if the ban had been extended just to let Kerry win and send the Republicans a message. They would screwed Bush and counted on the Republicans in Congress getting the message to throw up obstacles to everything Kerry had planned.

You could show photograps and video of Bush and Cheney meeting with bin Laden and the 9/11 hijackers on Bush's ranch in August 2001. The Bushbots would still support him.

Many of the Bush fans I've met support Bush simply because the left doesn't. They hate us, and supporting Bush is an expression of that hatred. So it doesn't really matter what Bush does. They don't care.
