Whats the difference between Progressive and Liberal?
Or is Progressive just a new word fro Liberal since the right wing bad mouthed it so much ?

Liberal isn't a bad word I guess some are ashamed to say it.

7. Progressive is an old word.
It comes from at least the early 1900s.

I think it's a better word than liberal for two reasons.

1) The US and the rest of the world disagree about what the word liberal means. In the rest of the world, a liberal is pretty much a fiscal conservative. I believe a fiscal conservative can be a social liberal, but that's besides the point. The point is that this is a confusing word. Whether we're in the US or elsewhere, people know what a progressive is.

2) People have turned liberal into a dirty word. I think we should use the word progressive to show people what a liberal really is. A liberal isn't somebody who wants to turn back the clock and take away all the freedom fought for when this country was founded. A liberal is somebody who wants the system to "progress". That's a progressive.
