3. Better, but still inaccurate!
The Blue State-Red State model is an oversimplification that gives a HUGE advantage to Bush. By calling a state Red, simply because 2-7% more voters voted for Bush, overgeneralizes the reality of how many Bush voters there really are.

I think a Repub think tank must have devised this model to support the idea that Bush has a mandate. Clearly, this inaccurate model skews the amount of Bush support that is out there and discounts MILLIONS OF DEMOCRATS IN RED STATES. Millions of Democratic voters translates into more Democratic US Congresswomen/men and Senators. Not to mention Governors and local elected Democrats.

Bush's Current National Approval Rating: 44%

4. The proper way to analyze the situation is through red/blue counties
By analyzing counties, you really realize the deep cultural divide that our country faces.

6. Correct.
My state is "red," and my county is "red," but my city went "blue." And I live in one my state's largest cities.
The true divide is the urban vs. rural. Not north vs. south. It's just there are more urban areas in the north and far west and fewer in the the south and mid-west.
I attribute this to a couple of things that need our immediate attention (outside of election fraud, that is)
1. Lack of comparative media. Rush and Hannity are EVERYWHERE in these rural areas and there is little to tell the other side or even to present a fair accounting.
2. The way conservatives have turned the church into a campaign post. I think we all should report to the FEC anytime a minister, preist, religious leader starts stumping from the pulpit. Not only is it illegal and takes the church out of the tax-free zone, it's also in keeping with Jesus' opinon (to wit: Jesus kicked the governmental officials and money-hungry scrum out of the Temple).

5. It should be red counties vs blue counties or more correctly
counties with population centers and a wasteland without anyone living there. The "red" states are sparsely populated and depend on the blue states for welfare to keep going. Conversely the Blue states depend on the red states for food production.
