Anti-corporate sports?
Are there any sports to follow that aren't totally corporate and just a vehicle for advertising? I love football, but my god, could there be more commercials. Same with baseball and basketball now of days.

Is anywhere safe?

1. Ummm... anything that is not at the pro-level.
Why not try coaching a school team instead of promoting corportate sports?

3. Darts?
I suppose the real determining factor is "Is the sport carried on TV?"

If so, then advertizing will certainly have infected it. Horseshoes and lawn darts are pretty safe.

outside of Texas I think most High School sports are still semi-safe...go check out a friday night game in your area.

But if you can see it on TV, then that's going to be bought and paid for by someone selling something.

9. LOL - just saw a pro darts competition on espn the other day....
... stupidest thing in the world for tv: watching dart-masters play 501. It's over in about 30 seconds - LOL. Cricket would make more sense. But televising -01 dart games with people that good is just stupid. Triple20-triple20-triple20.......

4. Professional Sport IS Business...
...and no, none of it is "safe" and none of it is "free". Do like me, give it all up...all of it. Otherwise, you're just a facilitating the very system you hate.

7. smoking cannabis is a non-sport if there ever was one
Get some good tunes and a fat sticky bud, and have a non-corporate
holiday, deeply stoneed and grossly irresponsible to the demands of
the corporate republic to consume consume consume.

Sport, by its very nature, is a "doing" and event promoted and designed
by corporate masters to promote their corporate dystopia... whereas
a stoned public that doesn't care a toss, is the nihilism that
undoes the identity politics of sports.

When beavis says, "That wuz cuul." and Butthead goes "uuuuuuuuuuuhhhh"
there is no corporate universe. They idealize the state of mind of
surrendering the ego and its jugement... and for many smoking a joint
is just that. For others, it is spiritual discipline over hours
days and years.... and all to the same ends.... why care?
