I need some help making a 12 step program for Freepers.
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 02:41 PM by kuozzman
I'm sure we all have friends/family who drink the Bush Kool-aid, I know I do. Though whenever I discuss something controversial with them, I get to overwhelmed by their ignorance to get my thoughts straight about just how ignorant they are, so I'm making a 12 step program for my freeper friends/family. I'll post it when I'm done, but I wanted some feedback about the 12 most important things that people are ignorant about. If you know of any good websites that summarize any of the following, feel free to list them, for they may be better than what I have now. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Here's what I have now:

12 Step Program For Freepers

1. Meet the PNAC
2. Have a look at some PNAC documents
3. Look over the 9/11 timeline at cooperativeresearch.com
4. Elections 101: Some facts about voting in the United States
5. The 2000 Election
6. The 2004 Election
7. Media 101: Some facts about today’s media
8. The Bush Economy
9. Corporate America and Congress since 2000
10. The Bush cabinet: A closer look
11. The Bush family: A closer look
12. Apoligize and then thank me.

8. Remember to keep your message simple so they move back
to thoughtful conversations slowly. They have been living in a fog and reality could be a shock.Thats why they fight it so hard.

17. LMAO!!!
Step 1: admitted we were powerless over (propagandizing "news" stations) and that our lives were unmanageable; pledged to remain abstinent from such "news" stations one day at a time.

Step 2:"Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves (BODY OF KNOWLEDGE AND FACTS) could restore us to sanity".

Step 3: "Made a decision to take back our lives from GW BUSH."

Step 4: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of GWBUSH and ourselves.

Step 5: Admitted to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of GWBUSH'S and our wrongs.

Step 6:Were entirely ready to remove all these characters of defect through impeachment or voting in Democrats.

Step 7: Removed these defects by being honest and refusing to spread lies and propaganda.

Step 8: Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. Including those we are responsible for harming in our greater community and around the globe.

Step 9: Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Step 10: Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

Step 11: Sought through honest discussion and active participation to improve our society and our relationships around the world.

Step 12: Having had an awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other freepers and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

14. LOL wonderful. Possibly very effective too. Excellent.
I'd put media up to #4. (Explains why election reporting might be off.)

For #2, Instead, how about Tax Money 101. How much is at stake. If each American puts in about four bucks, that's ONE BILLION dollars. Republicans have borrowed 1800 B$ in four years for 291 M Americans: about $1500 per American for EACH YEAR, EACH FAMILY MEMBER. In turn your familt got a $600 check--once. If average you did not even get back $500 let alone $1,500. Clinton figured it would take 15,000 B$ to pay the principal and interest, Republicans now figure we will owe that much. That is a differnce of THRITY-THOUSAND BILLIONAIRES. And it is going to Republican buddies including the media. It is your money -- and IT IS YOUR CHILDREN'S DEBT -- to be about $50,000 per American.

OK, too long.

Something with detail and links would make a great email.

I love it.

15. I think your idea has merit, but I personally favor --
-- a program whose swift culmination involves freeper chinos being buried alive with large earth-moving machinery in a VERY deep hole.

This would be forged as a 2-step program:

1 Round the morons up; and

2 Bury their asses alive forever.

1) Find large cliff.
2) Go to edge of large cliff.
3) Jump.

Any questions?

18. How does Step 1 look?
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 03:43 PM by kuozzman
Step 1: Meet the PNAC

The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) is a neoconservative think tank formed in the spring of 1997. PNAC's stated aims: “to shape a new century favorable to American principles and interests,” to achieve “a foreign policy that boldly and purposefully promotes American principles abroad,” “to increase defense spending significantly,” to challenge “regimes hostile to US interests and values,” and to “accept America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.”

PNAC’s Statement of Principles (6/3/1997): http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm

After the 2000 election of George W. Bush, many of the PNAC's members were appointed to key positions within the new President's administration:

Seriously - I mean how are they supposed to read or listen to all the other stuff?

I would also consolidate some of the information-gathering steps to make room for an early step where they question existing beliefs and assumptions - for example, "Is America really always right? Why do I believe this?" - and a later step where they internalize and accept reality (as opposed to ignoring it or having it bounce off of the hard fantasy shells they live in). Perhaps they could do this by repeating a mantra, such as, "I am being used," or "George Bush is not my friend."
