Nevermind the disgrace of the parka for a moment. What the hell kind of message was he sending with that?

1. Minstrel Boy, that is an incredibly funny line.
I'm up late howling at it. My neighbors are probably at this moment lunging for the phone to call the asylum.

Thanks for the lift.

2. He's just a boor. He never considers the feelings of others.
"Staff" doesn't mean anything, unless he thinks he was making a joke because everyone believes he's the acting president. This entire administration is composed of social misfits.

12. I think it's just like
when Bush wore that stupid jacket with his name on it and "Commander in Chief." :eyes: It's so immature. They have to do that to feel special and they have their "mandate." :eyes:

13. It meant EXACTLY what it said...he considers himself "Staff" of Auschwitz
...safetly working his current "shift" from afar in Neo-Con Washington, D.C.

Very dark humor...entirely in keeping with Cheny-like personna. I do NOT think it was accidental at all. Of course he considered his "wardrobe" closely at such a monumental Memorial. And of course he has DEEP contempt for human rights, and fully supports (and sadistically enjoys) war time torture and execution.

What a travesty to send him there...or anybody from Bushco Admin.

7. As a former WI resident,
I'm insulted at the thought that we'd produce such an ass. He should be banned from ever wearing a cheesehat, among other things.

but 'staff'. I totally just got it! hahahahaha! what a schmuck!

9. That he could give a shit about "old europe"
and their obsession with "human rights" and "genocide".

It would have been less offensive for him to have been entirely absent.

11. I still think he went skiing in the Tatra Mts. immediately after
the ceremony.

It's the typical American tourist ruse: to hit Munich's beer halls, Dachau and Neuschwanstein all in one day.

17. Skiing in the Tatras wouldn't have been a "joke"
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 03:01 AM by lebkuchen
It would have been an example of his sandwiching Auschwitz between events Cheney would rather have been doing. It's all very "bush" league.

At any rate, you'd have to think that our VP missed much of the message at this solemn ceremony. You don't wear white fur to an extermination camp.

19. That is actually what it means
It is a hat that marks the last time he had an erection. I guess that was 2001. I think it was on 09/11. He was hoping that his "lucky" hat, and being surrounded by a place where so much death had occured, would give him a "staff". He wore the huge parka to cover up the obvious signs.

Wasn't there a picture posted here a while back supposedly showing a somewhat large endowment for him?
