The effects of lies in high places

I once watched the first meeting between a young Marine from the South, blind, much of his face shot away, and his high-school sweetheart, who had come from Tennessee to Bethesda Naval Hospital to see him.

Hatred comes easily. There are wounds and there are wounds. A friend of mine spent two tours in Asia in that war now little remembered. He killed many people, not all of them soldiers. It is what happens in wars. The memory haunts him. Jack is a hard man from a tough neighborhood, quick with his fists, intelligent but uneducated — not a liberal flower vain over his sensitivity. He lives in Mexican bars few would enter and has no politics beyond an anger toward government. He was not a joyous killer. He remembers what he did, knows now that he was had. It gnaws at him. One is wise to stay away from him when he is drinking.

1. tim mcveigh was similar
it was maddening when the righteous thugs who are still committing treason against society were the loudest in damning tim mcveigh, who was inspired to his act by rightwing hate radio....during the 1st gulf 'war' mcveigh killed 2 iraqis who he says were too far away to hit back, and it bothered him....Tim was many thing, he was rw and racist and comfy with all that freeper crap, but....he also cared too much and believed too much etc. I do not believe that the ryder truvk bomb mcveigh and nichols built was the thing that murdered all the people at OK City....i believe the bfee was trying to set up the country for 'limiting civil liberty' and stronger police state etc. and OK city neatly jived with their plans (unfortunately, Mcveigh got caught right away, thus screwing up the 'muslim terrs' bit cnn/fox and rest of mediawhores were preparing)
While in prison mcveigh was housed with 'unibomber' ted koczynski who wrote that they had many hours of deep discussions, where tim learned things he hadn't even known before, things in books etc that koczynski showed him: to make a long story short, Tim McVeigh realized, like your friend Jack, that he was used, and the users weren't the ones Mcveigh had been told to hate....
Tim Mcveigh died for his country....
