The left punditry/talkers should attack in LOCKSTEP on unreported scandals
The right wingnuts are successful because they ATTACK in lockstep with all their talkers using the same themes to define Democratic targets.

Imagine if ALL our people did the same and POUNDED away at a theme for an entire week. Wouldn't SOME of it seep into the mainstream?

Imagine if ALL of them attacked Bush's pundit payola and went on to reveal the UNKNOWN FACT that Bush's marriage initiative should be accurately labeled BUSH'S MOONIE MARRIAGE PROGRAM, as it is based on RevMoon's marriage programs and many of its directors are credentialed through Moon's programs.

If they pounded away on this with NO LET UP, just the way the RW does, we can FINALLY open some eyes.

Then we go to the NEXT attack....for a solid week....NO LET UP.

1. How do we attack on
'unreported scandals'?

4. Well, under-reported scandals.
Certainly the Plame case is full of great points to attack the administration AND its paid off presswhores like Novak.

If we did the attacking in lockstep we might make some headway getting more into the mainstream.

2. I've tried suggesting that very thing
to the DNC for a couple of years now. No answers just send more donations. It can be done and it just seems so obvious a thing to do. Whatever show they are on include it in the answer even if it doesn't fit. So what like they are listening to what the answer is anyway? It would make news instead of us responding to their agenda.

3. I think it's the left radio talkers and punditry, not Dem spokespeople.
What the Rethugs do is let the rw talkers submit some claim against the Dems and then they are just compelled to address it....(cough, cough).

5. In a way... informally (and ironically)
I think Brock's Media Matter sorta plays this role (of getting a story out that gets talked about in mass by liberal media) - but focusing on media rw bias.

Though with no intentionality the point you make - to keep hammering on it and not let up. More that an item gets talked about for a couple of days (but in some instances that has been enough to push the envelop).

6. It does, but, it seems our side can't come to some unspoken agreement to
POUND the right TOGETHER.

It seems like they all are concerned with sounding fresh and original and intellectual (typical lefty) which is INeffective in DEFINING the right. It's great for actual governance, but not for pounding the crap out of the other side.

10. being a policy minded
academicky type... you hit the nail on the head. Original... pushing the idea further... and then off to the next tangent... Rather than (forgive me for the triteness) "Stay on Message, stay on message, stay on message!"

11. heh...I'm really the policy wonk type, but we need a support squad of
truth slinging, GOP mythbusting pundits to ride shotgun alongside our best policymakers.

7. Dean may be better at organizing such an effort
than other Democratic leaders have been.

8. But, y'know, they don't even HAVE to be organized to do this. They just
have to DO it.
