Just What Are The Clinton's Up To?

I just read that Bill recently said there were two stars in the dem party, Clark and Hillary. It really pisses me off that he said such a thing. First of all, it concerns me that the Clintons are pulling strings. I like Clark, but if he's being used/backed by the Clintons, I like him a lot less. And just how is Clark a star of the Dem party? He just announced the other day that he was a dem. What has he done for the party?

I'm not particularly a Clinton fan. I fall into the category of people who were disappointed by Clinton. Sorry, I've never been a Hillary fan. I never knew what she believed. I still don't. And I've got a case of Clinton fatigue. I feel like these two have an inablility to cede control of the party.

I think Hillary anywhere on a ticket would be a disaster. There is no more divisive a figure in American politics. I fervently wish the Clintons would stick to raising money for the party and helping candidates when asked.

That was no military secret. Also he is from Ark. As to Hillary she is "wife". Disapponited with Clinton too, but he is right Clark is the best shot the Dems have for recapturing the white house.

and Kerry is my number 2 choice, but he definitely has foreign policy credentials. I believe this is a "bash" at all the dem candidates, and a self-serving power grab. Gag me.

Basically, the complaint is that Bill Clinton is exerting influence. Seeing as how that is exactly what ALL politicians do, it's a bit immature to complain about it. It's like complaining about the rain.

The complaint also mentions:

1) Clinton's support for Clark. - Different people will support different candidates. Clinton happens to like Clark. Ther's othing wrong with that

2) being "tired" of the Clintons - thank the Republicans for that

3) Criticizes Hillary - without actually mentioning anything Hillary has (or has not) done. Thoughtless, IMO.

Many Democrats look to them for leadership. This is no time for them to stand back and abandon the faithful. In time, the presidential nominee will emerge and take on the spineless Chimp who resides in the White House. The Democrat who becomes president will take over the reins of party leadership.

Until then, many Dems will look to the Clintons for advice, ideas and strategy. Leaders lead.

What's not to understand? If someone doesn't like what Clinton has to say, or doesn't care what he has to say, then so be it.

Like it or not, as the former Democratic president, the press is going to report on him. It doesn't mean a person has to agree with him. I agree with one out of two of his opinions in this case.

Bill Clinton is a real Democrat and he will do what he thinks will help Democrats win in 2004. I don't always agree with Clinton, and some people think he is too worried about his image, but he is one of the most powerful Democrats of our generation and we will need his help in 2004.

But because of Clinton-bashing on the Right, knee-jerk reaction among many Democrats rallies in defense of the Clintons although they did considerable damage to the viability and integrity of the Democratic party. They continue to undermine the party's future by parading their egos instead of bowing out gracefully when the time comes to turn over a new leaf.

when a poll is done including the Clinton's in it, they win, hands down. I remember a poll that asked whether you would vote for Hillary, the shrub or any other Dem...Hillary won by a huge margin. If a poll was done with Bill as a choice, he would win, IMCPO. They have a lot of influence and that is what we need. I don't think he should have said what he said, it wasn't right (Clark isn't in the race, yet), but he said it and now we have to move on. I like Wes Clark. I just wish he would make up his damn mind! I'm tired of waiting.

Name recognition over actual familiarity with their policy positions and voting records.

Where???? I read things every day about the Clinton's that are just flat out lies - some of the most outrageus stories. Seems if "rags" or TV pundits can keep the Clinton's on their pages, their ratings go up - regardless of what they say.

The grassroots are new support to the party and they are out there fighting the new fight. Sorry, but the Clinton wars are old fights. Just can't get up the interest for them.

the party is of the utmost importance..Clark is not my first choice but He will be a SERIOUS contender with Clinton Backing and obviously I'll support ANYONE the dem's field to get BUSH out!

One of their close allies is the Brady Campaign and another is the Children's Defense Fund.

Marian Wright Edelman came out in support of John Kerry. Hillary is one of her longtime closest friends. I don't see any Machiavellian interference.

Al From had to retreat from his support of Joe Lieberman, and quietly gave in to the left wing of the DLC, switching focus to Kerry. I don't think that happened on its own. I think Clinton made him do it.

Bill Clinton is preparing the way for Hillary so she can "Jump In the Race" later next year!!! He secretly hates Kerry, Dean, and every other Democrat!!! It's all about getting Hillary elected!!!

Clinton and Kerry have been associates for a long time. He's also advised and groomed Edwards. Sounds to me like that comment was hearsay. Clinton is a politician and would do his damndest not to alienate anyone.

And how have Clinton's policies been a disaster for the country?

Whatever will most benefit the Clinton's.

Give me a break. The man was probably just having friendly conversation talking politics. I wouldn't doubt he'd say something nice about every democratic candidate. Next week he may say that Kerry is a real gem or the week after Edwards is tops in his book.

Are some of you upset that he hasn't said anything nice about YOUR candidate yet? Let this man have a private conversation without any scrutinizing from us at least. We're starting to act freepish around here.
