‘Sex offender’ at Concord was merely a streaker

Concord University has a registered sex offender on the faculty, college officials confirmed Tuesday — but he’s actually just a streaker.

James Edward Parker, 58, is listed on the Pennsylvania sex offender registry as having committed “indecent assault,” defined as sexual touching of a child under 13.

But when Concord officials started looking into the matter, they discovered that their new hire had actually streaked through a park more than a decade ago, said Dean Turner, Concord’s academic dean.



one of the major problems on having these registries--how can they make the stretch from streaking to assaulting a child--is that they are run by humans and we all know how error prone we can be and in this case, an error could have ruined someone's life

Pedophiles are extremely manipulative with the facts. Unless you have seen the actual police report, you have only his version of what happened. And I would not take his word for it that he was originally charged with "indecent exposure", only.

Streaking through a park? Why would you do that?

Streaking at a football game? Sure I can see that. Streaking at a political protest? At a concert? At the Academy Awards?
Sure, I can see all that.

But streaking at a park? Where kids are?

I'm not making any judgment, just noting that sex crimes are often plead down as opposed to up.

I wouldn't have him near my kid.
